They waited and ended up having to pay $40.25m/yr and $28.75m/yr for Chase and Tee and if they want Trey to play for them it'll be $38m/yr now.
Coulda been $86.5m/yr.
Now it's $107m/yr.
The difference is the amount the 2nd highest paid IOL in the NFL is making.

We will see how it turns out. The key is the guaranteed money which you left out and Tee already lacks major guarantees.
What is Watt guarantee, if 60% or less, then we are still in the game in my opinion. My guess Watt has no guarantee for year 4 and it is also a huge base salary or year 4 is lacedwith a high roster bonus which has no guarantee.
Edit, if his extension is 123 million and he is now getting 21 million (base 2025), then he goes to 143 million and guarantee is 108 million, then leaves 35 million not guaranteed.
Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a record three-year contract worth a reported $123 million. The deal includes $108 million in fully
guaranteed money.
So guaranteed portion is 75.5% if my math is correct
It will tough for Bengals to satisfy his demands is my opinion. I think TJ has been better longer than Trey and is more of an edge rusher than a DE. But, Trey definitely has a case for at least 100 million with 75% guaranteed.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

You asked and right after you Pally answered, so I didn't leave out shit.
$123m, $108m guaranteed
87.8%

Again..there was a multitude of defciencies with the defense..including coaching..hopefully the changes made players acquired both through the draft and FA and the growth of the young players..we will see a marked improvement...sorry..but the defense stunk even with hendickson..but we can agree to disagree

You mean those defensive players they drafted that they also haven’t signed? They don’t mind sacrificing a rookies development if it means they can “win” the contract negotiation.
The FO looks like a bunch of morons again (still)
So reactive and never proactive - They just sit around playing their stubborn game trying to win negotiations while the prices keep going up.

Jessie Bates and Trey Hendrickson would though.
And they weren’t going to pay Tee until Chase forced their hand.

Nope, he was extended so you have to add in the 20 million this year, so total contract is 143 million with 108 guarateed for 4 years now. It is 75.5%, but still a huge number.
My bad I was. not challenging you on leaving out guarantee, I thought it was not out yet and in post I responded it was not there.
Maybe I am wrong, but I think if you extend a deal, the previous deal with one year left has to be calculated in the new guarantee.
Ny calculation is TJ is 108 million guarantee, so real pay day is really less than 26 million per year and he has the opportunty to get 35 milllion more if he earns it.

You can add Whitworth and Zeitler to that list as well!

Even the FO haters have to admit Bengals never get their hand forced to our dismay at times. They do contracts on their scale on their time.

By having him sit out all last Off-season?
Chase was one of the first players paid this off-season. I'm just curious what they did to force it

I regret that I have but limited rep to give this post.
Penny wise and pound foolish. This FO is so dumb.
Of course, would Chase & Trey be holding out for more $$ now?

Specific to players not yet signed.. most have been signed....yet...only 9 ...2nd round draft selections have been signed..to this date by all NFL teams....not a bengals thing
Just because they did not sign a FA player you dont approve of..please let us know of your background as a coach and scout in the NFL
ironically.. we are discussing trey hendrickson the FA the bengals signed a few years ago.. sorta blows apart your argument
Bengals..unlike some other teams did a great job retaining their superstars burrow ..higgins and chase...and others
Training camp has not even started dude..calm down..you , I and everyone else have absolutely no idea as to the tone and tenor of contract discussions being held between the team and players ..nor should we
Have a great evening

You know something man..just maybe the team does not want to spend a zillion bucjs on a DL that is thirty years old..thats their perogative and apparently the majority of other NFL teams were not running to get him @ this presumed value..
..stop with the contract nonsense.my god people have selective memories..how long ago did we hear burrow putting pressure on the front office and sure enough deals got done for chase and higgins....
personally..I think there will be positive resolutions with both stewart and hendickson..life goes on..I think this message board should be allowed to have a representive in the executive offices if the bengals so we can get accurate uodates on all negotiiations so that no one here suffers a cardiac event

I am certainly calm as this is not real life for us…just entertainment. Also, where did I say anything about free agents? Trey was their best outside FA signing but now they are waiting around on his extension as the price keeps going up - dumb.
True about the 2nd round picks but let me know how many first rounders have not signed yet? Since Stewart is the only one I would think that is a “Bengals thing”. And he’s a talent that everyone agrees needs to refine his game and get as many reps/practices as he can.
They just seem to always do this crap - $ comes first because they are a mom and pop store trying to use their same old business model to compete with Amazon and Wal Mart.
