Trey Hendrickson Update

Jessie Bates who Mike Brown didn't want to pay or trade... but then he let him walk and got nothing back because he's a stubborn old turd who hates success if it doesn't happen his way... and then he was made the 4th highest paid with the 2nd highest guaranteed at signing amount safety in NFL history at the time.

Just because Mike Brown doesn't want to pay you and doesn't want to trade you doesn't make you not valued. Again, that's an absolutely terrible take.

I mean, the Bengals asking price is a 1st and a young defensive player.  Could their respective teams get that for Garrett, Watt, or Crosby?  Yes, in all likelihood.  The fact that nobody is willing to give that for Trey means the league sees him as being a step below those guys.

No doubt he is...but statistically he can produce sacks at the same level.

And some of it is the Bengals. If those guys played on the Bengals and Hendrickson was on the Steelers, I think his value in a trade would be higher.

Even better.  So if Trey sits out, Bengals get about a million in cap money open each week, plus Bengals are keeping Trey money each week as he doesn't get paid.  So players could be added after the Cleveland game that I think Bengals win with or without Trey.  There could be free agent D that could help Bengals.  Plus if some team in needs offers a first round pick for Trey, it might be nice to have two first round picks in April.

Or we may wake up one day, and Trey is going to play for Bengals

These things may not happen before Cleveland game, but I like Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Brown chances in that one anyway.

My question is this:

IF the Bengals aren't going to pay Trey, who did they realistically plan on paying? Next year, they are scheduled to have around 65 million in cap space. That's top 5 in the league...

And who on the team deserves an extension outside of those that already got one? I can't think of a single other player that I'd extend on this team at the moment.

And Karras too?
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Karras is heading into his age 33 season when he's a FA.

OB Jr.
Ted Karras
Noah Fant
CTB (if he gets back to his old form, and not how he played last year)
Tanner Hudson (Cheap backup TE)
Jake Browning

But but Whitworth.... Ninja No seriously, he is still playing at a high level, and is a free agent in 26. I would give him another short-term deal, unless he just falls off this year.

Well…LMFAO….they save $950k space for what?  For the Blackburns to take more ski trips to Switzerland?  Just get the agreement done!

And why shouldn't they spend their own money? The main purpose of owning and operating a business is to make (AND ENJOY) profits. I never begrudge any business owner spending their own money however they wish. After all, it's their business, not ours. And please, don't throw out the lame objection of "but, but we are the fans/customers!"

Good centers last about 12-13 seasons. Ted’s 10th is this year. So he’s close. But they don’t have a replacement

Isn't that a question the FO will determine after players play 2025? We have a lot of guys on 1 year deals, we have players like Yoshi who may merit a big payday.

On to 2025, let's save the drama for the off season.

He will command at least 16 to 18 million.

As a tax payer, the bengals come begging with open hand begging when they need funding for a stadium or renovation, I have every right to question the Browns family profit driven mentality.  So it is my business especially how their misery mentality reflects the community reputation.  Running an NFL franchise is not like operating a manufacturing, retail or consulting business.  I would love to know what profits my competitors are making and in the mean time put out sub standard products while receiving similar income as my competitors who do have a higher quality product.

Well, it's basic economics. If people buy substandard products so be it. We are a consumer driven society. Businesses fail every day.

As far as being a taxpayer, are you one of those people who yell "I pay your salary!" at policemen, firemen, teachers, postal workers et al when they do something you don't like?

The solution to your gripe is pretty easy. If you don't want your tax money to benefit the Bengal organization, don't vote for it.

Says a lot about our team! We’re way too too heavy.

No, they actually do something of value that benefits the community unlike the Brown family where their only concern is their pocketbooks and control.
