Hilarious.

I agree with you, college football should be the place for 2nd chances, if any.. but the NFL, professional american football? hell no... if you are still too D*MB to be clueless as a player/person, you deserve to be D*MB doing another career. I'm sure there are lots of other guys happy to take over his spot and work harder. Burrow needs a reliable 3rd receiver NOW, even if he "likes" Burton or seen some improvement. 2nd chances are for movies, like The Bad News Bears from 1976 hehe.... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074174/

No news is good news I suppose, I wouldn’t expect much from him even with his head on straight. I bet his antics screwed him out of an entire year of development. If he managers to not choke hoes and stays out of the casino for an entire year, then this year is more or less his rookie season.

That's averaging 26.75 yds/rec. If he can get his head right, that is a talent worth developing.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Lol
It nets out to 0.28 catches and 7 yards per game that he was active.

Sure, his rookie season was somewhat of a wasted roster spot for the team. However, he did show some big play ability. Obviously that 26.75 yards/catch likely wouldn't hold up under 80 targets worth of production, but the threat of what he is capable of is enough to pull some coverage off of the #1 and #2 targets.

He caught 4 out of 14 targets with the most accurate QB in the NFL throwing to him.
28%. This guy will be out of the league in 12 months.

I just cant see a guy who catches under 30% of his targets, who averages .4 catches per game, and 7 yards per suit up being good this year.
Especially when you factor in all of the off the field issues he has
He cant even pay rent...

I was too, but they didn't, so we might as well hope he grew up.

Iosivas caught just 15 passes his rookie season for 116 yards. Its not like Iosivas had a great rookie season either. Just because Burton didnt have a great rookie season doesnt mean he can improve from his 4 catch 107 yards

I hope so but I Im doubting it. Guy was a knucklehead all through college and his rookie season in the NFL. Its hard to believe he will suddenly mature during one offseason.

Sometimes a hard dose of reality will finally set it. Hopefully getting left behind when the team traveled and barely seeing the field sent a message he received. The signs that he's changing his ways are there, so although there is no denying he's a knucklehead, let's just hope he finally gets it.

I was ready to cut bait the minute I saw the video of his clotheslining a female fan and after hearing Saban's analysis. But, as Sled said below, he's on the Bengals now, who invested a high pick on him, so I'm rooting for him to get his life together. We saw how the Reds invested in Josh Hamilton and he turned his life around remarkably for a number of years (mostly with the Rangers, where he even won the MVP award). Hamilton had his relapses, but when he was good, he was very, very good. Maybe Burton can figure something out, because he has the natural gifts.

I didn't like the Burton pick when we announced it, and he's done nothing to make me change my mind. WTS, we've see WRs have crappy first years and turn it around.
In his rookie year, Khalil Shakir only caught 50% of his targets, for 10 catches. 161 yards, and 1 TD. In Year 2, he bumped it up to 39/611/2, this past year, he produced 76/821/4 and just signed a 4 yr/ $69 Mil extension
