fined missing mandatories and it is just hurting him and the team. If he wants as much as Crosby it is a bit ridiculous at his age as he will
be 31 this year. He needs to take this into account and just take the raise instead of playing for 16 mil this year or even worse sitting out
which increases his retirement day by day.
Yep, one side is willing to compromise (FO) and one side is being an ass (Trey).

That deal makes a ton of sense, is an out the right AAV, and provides Hendrickson with his payday. He might be angling for a third year, but the structure makes a lot of sense.

Trey is doing what his agent tells him to do pretty sure. I would say the agent is the ass.

Whether your opinion is accurate or not, that the player is the problem in this negotiation, doesn't make me feel any better based on the organization taking the hard route with players decade after decade. It's happening right now with Stewart.
Oh well, life as a Bengals fan!
for a Super Bowl victory this season, but I fear the defense is going to get slaughtered.

If players are considering missing regular season games, it's almost assured they will skip practices, TC, and even (some) preseason games.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

NFL agents are capped at 3% for player contracts also 2% on 1st franchise tag signing, 1.5% on the second and 1% on the third. They can earn above that percentage for endorsement deals though.
If anyone want's more info or is looking for some bathroom reading you can find the NFLPA agent rules and regulations as well as the 2020 CBA here. :)

Source please? This is the only place I’ve seen anything about any additional offer.

Who is Stewrt's agent?

Trey's agent is Harold Lewis of the National Sports Agency. Apparently Lewis founded the agency in 1982 and has been NFLPA certified since 1984. Here is a list of their NFL clients:

Stewart's agent is Zachary Hiller of Loyalty Above All Sports and Entertainment. Seems he is a newer agent having been NFLPA certified since 2014. Here is a list of their clients.

I don't know anything about the reputation of either agency but perhaps a look at their clients will provide some hints if someone is familiar with or looks into how negotiations have gone with those players.

It surprises me as neither has had a ton of clients with huge NFL success. Why would Trey not get a great agent with a great history with NFL contracts?
Maybe Trey is giving the agent too much leeway. It is hard to say, the agent has to be motivated to get an extension, otherwise he does not get paid this year for all his work.

No idea. Making decisions with that kind of money involved is well out of my league. :)
I not 100% sure bit I think Trey has been with that agent since he was drafted.

Don’t know a lot about all these agents but know there are some that will not help this situation. Then again, I don’t know his current agent and it does not seem to be going great.

I cant verify the offer/rejection part...that's fair. Only that they talked after Pratt was released with an impasse remaining.
My source was through Tony Pike on 1530 radio here locally, using Diana Russini as his source that communication happened between the two sides in that timeline.

Trey seems like he might be a loyal guy. The agent also appears to be more focused on what his client wants. These two things are speculation but the 1 year extension seems to point to this. Trey wasn't happy and took the 1 year deal probably being loyal and taking it believing if he did well the Bengals would pay him. Also the agent takes the deal I can only assume because Trey wanted to take it the low guarantees also point to just getting deals done that Trey wanted.
Trey has said the years are the sticking point everything else is negotiable. So that has to be the sticking point in my mind the numbers are out there to know what range he needs to be in. The Bengals probably really don't want to give him the years now they drafted to 1st rd DEs in the last 3 years. Just not very good planning on theyre part in my opinion.
