Not sorry for the caps. Rather than come in not ready to practice, they are focusing on fitness.  These guys make too much money to not be prepared for this!

They are not going to run a marathon in 102 degrees. How many reps can your "in shape ass" put up @ 225 lbs? 

Many of them will be required to move grown men  against their will, can you do that? If you say no, then you;re not in shape.

1) I am not a professional athlete.
2) I have 2 herniated discs.
3) I can bench 225 @ 175, but it compromises my back, so I don’t care how heavy I can lift.
4) I can throw 45 lb dumbbells up 50+ times, do 50+ pushups, do 15+ pull-ups. I focus on functional strength, personally.

Irregardless. I am training for my next marathon in these temps today, and every day since the flying pig. I don’t take time off, as I want to continue to build my baseline. These guys should be able to get through a practice in 102 degrees, honestly. It’s not like they are playing in the Super Bowl today.

I know it’s not apples to apples, and I wish I could be a professional football player, with a higher ceiling. But I’m not. I will say that if I was, there is very little chance that I wouldn’t be prepared for the conditions. It WOULD and IS absolutely harder, but the better you are today will only increase your output in better conditions.

Let’s get back to the topic, We wanted a more demanding training camp, until it was more demanding. Is that correct?

OMG.... this conversation has gone from silly to ludicrous. For starters, every construction crew I have ever seen has one guy working and 8 standing around waiting to rotate. And these athletes are not just distance running at a set pace for a set distance, they are going from full stop to top gear as fast as they can, and expecting their leg muscles to not only go from 0-100, but also to stop on a dime, cut, then accelerate again. It's not even the same ballpark.

How's the OG group looking?
That and DL about the only two areas I'm overly concerned about going into the season.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Some games may be played in temps nearing 100 degrees. We will be at 90+ for most of the next week. Do we just isolate to the indoors until it’s better conditions?

Also, it was an announced open camp to fans, like today. For those that traveled in to view, are they just SOL? Plus, they are completing the practices before noon, not after, which is really the peak heat/UV of the day.

I do understand that it’s harder, but that’s the point.

I think the DL depth is better than it was last year, well the IDL anyway. Two second year guys and brought in a few outside guys. DE is questionable.
