Im not big on Fant especially for what he will probably want in a contract. He was supposed to make around 8.5 million this year and was cut. I dont think for what he brings to the table he is worth anywhere near that. That money could be better spent elsewhere like a new guard or a DE like Smith or perhaps a good DT if one becomes available due to cuts. Fant would be far down the list unless he can be signed to a cheap contract but I doubt that is what he is looking at.

Obviously Fant isn't the deep threat, take it to the house guy, we have plenty of those. What Fant brings is a very dynamic skill set that enables the Bengals to be both more effective and less predictable by being able to successfully operate from 12 personnel. Fant is quite comfortable lining up in the backfield, as an inline TE, or split out. What he brings might not seem dramatic on the stat sheet for his personal numbers, but if his presence allows for other players to get the big numbers I'd be all for having him around. ![]() Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations -Frank Booth 1/9/23

Gesicki, Iosivas, and Chase Brown better than Boyd, Uzomah/Hurst, and Mixon? I would argue if you replace Iosivas with Fant, it is, but maybe not with Iosivas. It's close though, as I think Iosivas is an ok 4th option. Iosivas had 479 yards last year. Fant had 500, but he has averaged 591 in his career. Plus, Fant would allow for more blocking and better disguising of plays than Iosivas, as they'd get to run more 12-personnel but not have a blocking-only guy with stone hands like Dan Coats...I mean Drew Sample in as the 2nd TE opposite of Gesicki.

I would like it. If they can get him for a reasonable deal. He may not be a great blocker but can play inline and help with 12 personnel looks. I'd see him playing a role similar to what erick all was last season before the injury.

Probably has to do with All being on PUP. Hayden Hurst and CJ Uzomah still FA.

I spend more time surfing the net, texting and making phone calle on the course than I did hitting golf balls. Of course I play a lot of very busy courses where back ups are quite normal here in Cincy, in Florida and places like hilton Head where it takes 5 hours minimum to play a round. He could easily respond on the course within 30 seconds on his mobile phone. ![]() Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!
