Reds August 2025 Thread
Ugh. Can't give up 5 runs after 2 outs. Just can't.

Sad part is had they gotten to 7 games above .500, they'd also be 0.5 games holding the last WC spot  Cry
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Well that was a complete embarrassment last night. Blow a 7 run lead in 2 innings and not score another run over last 7 innings.
So glad I didn’t pay to watch that disaster.

2 games over .500 in 2nd half, that’s not going to cut it.

Just your standard reminder that Nick Martinez is the 3rd highest paid Red in franchise history.

That's been his M.O. basically the entire time he's been here. Couple of decent games starting followed by 2 or 3 bad to awful outings. He really needs to be in the bullpen. But the starters can't stay healthy enough to put him there.

One would think the law of averages would kick in and the Brewers are due to start some losing. But against us a sweep wouldn't surprise me.

Very forgettable night.

At one point, the Reds had 8 runs on 9 hits thru 1 and 1/3 innings.. They were then perfect gamed the last 7 and 2/3 innings.

The Reds threw in 3 errors to add to the box score.

The Reds were getting all kinds of praise from Jeff Brantley on WLW last night, about not over swinging, making contact with runners on base.

Boy that didn’t last long.

Seems like a lot goes wrong for this team when they just need to get and out.  IIRC, that's when the wheels fell off for Abbott the other day.  Two very winnable games slipped away this week.

Glad we got KeByran here to block our best offensive prospect and hit like total dogshit for the rest of the year. No idea what he was looking at on those first two strikes.

Not to mention Marte miss playing a line drive over his head for the first score of the day.

Where is a Billy Hamilton? He would be a star on this team batting .230

I think I just saw the Reds offense make a cameo in an erectile disfunction ad.

They don't have a leader. They have a star, maybe a few stars on the team if you include the mound, but no real proven leader that they can lean on.

Matt McLain looking like he just discovered that a breaking pitch exists.

As a fan, you're supposed to watch a 1-0 game with a runner on first like this
"We're one swing away from a 2-1 lead . . ."

A Reds fan
"We're one swing away from getting a runner in scoring position."
