The only two throws I wanted him to make we're completely off mark.
He's living up to his scouting report.

AJ McCarron is a future star

I see good and bad by players who are studs in pre-season. Heck, the AJ Green non catch and pick 6 was brutal, but it does mean AJ is not a great WR for example. If you go back and look at the INT run back. Green could have made a tackle. He didn't even try to. Total lack of caring on the play I feel'

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

And hopefully your last post if this is indicative ofthe kinds of crap you're going to post. Andy predictable? Have you NOT watched the Bengals the last 4 years? Andy is so inconsistent that they've replaced the definition of the word in the dictionary with his picture. I'll give you that AJ showed some poise and seemed under control for the ost part, but the rest of what you wrote is just crap. He displayed absolutely NOTHING to provide ANY kind of sense towards leadership, trustworthiness or lack thereof. And there is absolutely NO member of the Benglas that thinks that McCarron should be the guy right now including AJ McCarron. With that said, welcome to the boards!

Wow I'm away from my computer for a few days and of course the thread has more polarized comments than ever. Haters gonna hate.
I was a QB too nky and I agree that AJ has the better natural qualities for the position but Andy's the guy right now. That being said AJ had a better game than Andy and made better reads all night. And if you dont agree ask yourself truthfully who concerned you more in that game. AJ showed leadership and his upside while Dalton couldn't get things together and showed his downside of course on MNF. Dalton didn't shake his bad game curse and did not make many good post snap reads, for instance his int to Eifert. In fact most of his completions came from one read type plays like the PA roll out to green or the two curls to green just before the int that wasnt Andy's fault. The progression plays were either misread or he was sacked or there was a flag. I knew they weren't putting McCarron in until the half because they wanted Dalton to shake that bad game curse and lead his team on a come back drive. But he didnt. I am rewatching the game right now. Despite what the commentators were saying he didn't show that this is his team or that he is resilient to pressure. Thats his issue and to me he's not a "proven winner" at all until he can pull himself and his team out of a funk when they need it.

Well yes, we do not have a quarterback controversy, and yes he did not throw a significant pass that would force the safety out of the box. I just like the way he ran the offense - as much as because his long throws were poor as anything. He did not cave mentally. And his short throws were not panic throws. He knew where he was going with them and put a little zing on them. He took what the prevent was giving him and directed the team to a score. I like that. I'd like to think he'll improve on the longer throws and see what we end up with. I have no real expectations at this point.

Well, I guess that would lower the amount of money he'd be able to sign for.... |
