Bengals release Burfict
I miss Burfict already.

When he was good, he was good. I don't care what they say about him. He might be able to get it back for a year if motivated on a new team and trying to show he belongs. It's his long term health that's concerning.

Someone has to step up on D or in that lb room, and they got big shoes to fill.

Just like when Chad left it's time. Unfortunately for Vontaz he was satisfied with being good and not great. I didn't mind the suspension but coming in out of shape every training camp and not being a leader will always bother me. He could play and it would not surprise me if he bounces back but dude did not give an F last year and it showed.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

You didn't mind the suspensions?

I don't mind players crossing the line especially if there on my team.  You need physical intimidation on your team to win. You need a pitcher that throws at the head in baseball,  you need a fighter in Hockey,  you need a big man that fouls hard in Basketball, and you need a player that can take a person's head off when he goes across the middle in football.

You needed those things 20 years ago. Not so much now.

In fact, it's more of a liability.

I agree with you.  But that comment looks funny next to a Bill Laimbeer avatar.

Can't disagree with you more. Are leagues cracking down on it sure but those players are still effective. Now I will say that said player needs to be lighter and faster but toughness and intimidation will never be unwanted.

You are confusing "toughness" with "dirty".

You don't have to throw at an opponents head to be a great pitcher, and you don't have to "take their heads off" to be a tough football player.

Playing dirty is stupid and hurts the team.  That silly macho stuff went out with "Water breaks make players soft!"

By the end if the season, it really looked like it was down to Boyd and Mixon. Everyone else were outta ***** to give. One of the positives I'd always give Marvin was that his teams never quit in him... They did last year.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

VB was either loved or hated. I'm not sure the was ever any middle ground with him. When he was ON he was REALLY on, but when he was screwing up he certainly didn't fool around messing up.  Part of me will miss him, the other part glad he's gone. I'll keep the good memories as well as the bad. That's how life works anyway.

I didn't want Burfict brought here at the beginning. He changed my mind when he got here. He made the Stoolers crazy, and will always have a place in my heart for that. Good luck with the rest of your life Tez….

Just saw this, much respect to Taze, he was my favorite Bengal Linebacker at one point but the concussions have gotten out of hand and he isn't the same anymore. Would like for us to keep him around as another mind if we can, he does know the game very well and might be able to help out our young Linebackers and our new LB coach.

I loved the way VB played, he was one of my favorite players, but it was time to move on. Hopefully he and his family will take some time and decided whats best for him moving forward.

Burfict is on his way to visit the Raiders. Pauline still likes him. But him and Antonio Brown as teammates
