California: Jail Time Possible For Pronoun Misuse
#21
(10-12-2017, 12:48 AM)StLucieBengal Wrote: Saw this dude working at the Walmart check out this evening.   He actually had a button on with his preferred pronoun lol.   Her, she, and I can't remember the last one.    Made sure to call him fella, buddy, and young man during my checkout.

Had he not had the ridiculous button I would have just avoided him as much as possible as everyone else was trying to do.

Physical education.

Have a little Respect for the profession. We aren't rolling the balls out and playing dodgeball.

Hilarious

Allegedly went out of his way to harass someone because he doesn't like the choice of pronouns...and brags about it...but wants respect for saying "gym teacher"?

Cool

The world would be a better place if we went back to respecting everybody. Gym teachers, transgenders, tall people, short people, etc.

You can start showing respect for the profession by using "your" and "you're" in a sentence correctly like any educator should be able to do.

You just disrespected him by not using his preferred nouns. Maybe if he put it on a button?

Except physical education teachers had to actually gain the advanced knowledge for their profession. The others on that list were either born with it (tall or short) or have a mental health condition (transgenders).

Either way neither is the same as actually putting in the work to gain the necessary knowledge.

You respect those who put in the work.

I am not disrespected. If anyone wants to call them gym teachers then so be it.... would be the same as calling you advanced candy striper.

Do you prefer triggered?

Have you ever seen anyone tell a soldier rendering honors to the flag by standing at the position of attention while rendering a hand salute to show some respect? Yeah, me neither. No one, not even your character, tells anyone showing respect to show respect. Telling someone to show respect only happens when the triggered individual detects disrespect which is what triggered your response.

Yeah, except a gym teacher and a physical education teacher are both teachers with the same education level, qualifications, fill the same position, perform the same duties, and according to you for the same salary.

Whereas a candy striper and a Physician Assistant have different education levels, qualifications, positions, and duties for different salaries.

So not the same at all.

Comical.

You and your other stalker buddies can stalk someone else on social media. It's comical here to watch you look like a chump, but I don't need you in any part of my life outside of this forum.

Oh, btw . . .

Advanced knowledge of rolling out dodgeballs and turning on the kids bop version of 'My House'?

Come on.

The hardest time for a gym teacher is beep test day because sometimes the app screws up. Not comparative to a transgender cashier who has to put up with someone taking cheap shots to inflate their own self esteem. Or someone who has to shop in the children's section to find cloths that fit. Etc, etc

Nice of you to disrespect a whole field of teachers who put in the work to gain the knowledge and follow the NASPE standards.

What’s funny is that you seem to be upset whenever anyone makes a “blogger” out to be a journalist yet you have no problem disrespecting this profession.

As for your terrible attempt at a shot on the ***** cashier. If they didn’t want a reaction they wouldnt have presented themselves in such a ridiculous manner. And you know that I could care less what these people think or feel. I at least had the decency to not call him ridiculous right there, although it was warranted. He was rocking Sally Jesse Raphael glasses.

And those who shop at the kids section......there are a lot of options to buy clothing. Amazon keeps someone from having to wander around the juniors section.

Which is the point.

I don't have a problem with gym teachers. I also don't think I'm any better or worse. Because I have respect for them.

Same with transexual cashiers, tall people, short people, gays, math teachers, garbage men, office managers, women, blacks, physicists, carpenters, ugly people, movie stars, shoe salesmen, Catholics, muslims, porn stars, crack heads, kids, old people, homeless people.

I encourage everyone to have respect for other people. None of us are any better than anyone else. And the world is only going to get crappier the more we try to elevate ourselves because of our job, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.

It’s just a professional courtesy to give someone who has put In the work.

If you choose to not give a professional courtesy then that’s on you.

https://www.teacher.org/career/pe-teacher/

Quote:Physical Education teachers are commonly referred to as P.E. teachers or gym teachers. P.E. teachers are skilled and educated in physical education and athletic training. Gym teachers are knowledgeable about the human body and a wide variety of sports including basketball, gymnastics, football, baseball, tennis, and aerobics.

Qualities of a PE Teacher

Gym teachers are usually enthusiastic, physically fit, patient, and excellent communicators. They positively influence their students both physically and mentally. These teachers must be able to prepare lessons while maintaining students' physical needs, apprehensions, and challenges in mind.

These teachers have the capacity motivate students to perform physical activities while making them competitive and cooperative at the same time.

Benefits

Becoming a P.E. teachers comes with many benefits including health, retirement, and a great schedule. In regard to career growth, as a teacher gains experience, they may advance to department administration positions such as athletic directors or physical education directors. In addition, unlike many other teachers, gym teachers rarely have to grade homework on their time off.

Education Requirements for Teaching PE

Those who wish to teach Physical Education in the public sector are required to possess at least a Bachelor's Degree as well as a state-issued license to teach P.E. Licensure can be attained through the completion of a teacher education program focused on health and fitness. The teacher education program must be accredited by CAEP (Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation).

Many colleges and universities offer "joint" or "blended" degree programs which allow aspiring teachers to earn their Bachelor's Degree and Teaching Certification simultaneously. However, prospective teachers can enroll in a teacher education program after they have completed a Bachelor's Degree as well. Most states also offer alternative paths to becoming a P.E. teacher, such as internship programs.

Teacher preparation programs often focus on pedagogy, teaching methods, and actual field experience as a student teacher. Classes in the program may include health teaching methods, kinesiology, exercise physiology, recreational sports, aerobics, and applied physical education.

Pre-service P.E. teachers learn how to plan and present concepts to students of varying abilities and backgrounds.

Tests to Pass for Teaching PE

Physical education teachers in public schools are also required to take and pass all state licensing exams. In order to become a gym teacher, the candidate must pass a subject matter competence exam that focuses on physical education. A general exam is usually required as well. Competency exams vary from state to state and should be taken in the state where you wish to teach.

The exact licensing requirements vary depending on the state.

Find Information About Becoming a Teacher In Your State

Each state has different requirements for becoming a certified teacher. To find out specific requirements, click on your state.

That's from teacher.org.  Seems actual teachers aren't triggered by not using your preferred nouns.

Why? I always give a professional the courtesy.

I do not pretend with people who claim they are something they are not. For instance I do not call you Dr Belsnickel.
