Corey Dillon miffed over perceived RoH snub
#21
Only thing I'll agree with Dillon here is it is kinda silly it's a fan vote.

Right now season ticket members get 1 vote per season they've been members so 15 years they get 15 votes. Which actually should favor older players the way the voting goes.

But Bengals/NFL fans aren't stupid the players voted in should be ahead of Corey Dillon... he will get his turn.

He may have made up with Bengals leadership, but maybe not the fans?

Season ticket holders haven't forgotten him chunking his pads at them.

I'm not surprised to see he still cries when he doesn't get his way.

I think the big point is the players that have been voted in over Dillon rightfully deserve to be. Whether it was by fans or leadership I'm sure the voting would of been the same way.

Mixon will have to stay a Bengal through 2024 if he hopes to surpass Brooks. Maybe even 2025 if he starts splitting time more or gets hurt.
Personally, I think it's a miracle Mixon even is still a Bengal in July, and I have even lower expectations he'll be a Bengal after this season.

Should be that simple, not the lead story on ESPN but this is another example of viewers wanting drama over substance.

I'm frankly surprised that he cares. He wanted out, got out, and won. Ids he in the Patriots ROH?

I don't get why anyone would be big mad about this. I'm still amazed that they finally capitulated and started a ROH. Dillon def deserves to be in based on what he meant to the team, but I feel like he just hung a few more years of waiting on the process.

CD doesn't feel like a guy that's gotten over what he perceived as poor treatment here. I can't blame him, but again, I'm surprised he cares all that much.

I'll get it started with the first 5 off the top of my head.

Whitworth
Boomer
Chad Johnson
AJ Green
Geno Atkins

Agree with these, but feel he falls right after this group

Those are the only guys I'd consider clearly ahead of Dillon.
Dillon is the franchise rushing leader by a lot.

Unfortunately, attitude and comments do matter though, because it's ultimately people voting, it's not purely stat-based. If you piss someone off, they may not vote you in before someone else (or at all).

Believe all these are worthy

He didn't need to do Jon Kitna like that.

Agreed, and also Mitchell.  That was rather tacky.

I'd put Brooks in ahead of him, especially now.  Brooks was the better all around player, and rarely came off the field.  But Dillon does deserve his props.  He was a better player than Jerome Bettis, or at least better longer.

I have always felt/said that Corey Dillon would have been a 1st ballot Hall of Famer if he didn't play for the 90s Bengals due to even better stats, recognition, and wins. He's 20th all-time in rushing yards and put a team on his back to win a SB ring.

Hes easily one of the most underrated backs of his era. Everyone knew he was getting the ball and he could still produce. Not that he's as good, but it was a similar situation to what Adrian peterson had to deal with but he's a guaranteed lock for 1st ballot. Dillion should've been 2 ballot at least.

Agree

Yet his son Jalen did Jon no favors either by getting 5 felony child pornography charges that he struck a plea deal on to get dropped down to misdemeanors and he is banned from the Florida campus presently where he was QB.

Still bad publicity for such a good man.

CD deserves to be in before all of them. My votes would be Parrish and Dillon this year. I agree with all those that have been voted in so far and right now, Parrish and Dillon are most worthy for the HoF so they should be next in the RoH.

Too many people get wrapped up in someone's attitude and the things they say. It seems to me, people forget just how shitty this team was in the 90s and right before Marv got here. Not just on the field but the entire thing with MB running it.

Go play under that guy's management for a while and get back to me. I don't hold a single word he says about the Bengals franchise, of that time, against him.

I personally don't like a player or coach asking for escalades when people decide when it is appropriate. I would rule him out for now.
