Fair enough.   Forefathers also didn't have gov benefits to pay for either.   Nor an income tax to raise to pay for them.  

I am ok opening borders if we go back to no gov benefits and no income tax again.  

I advocate a restricted border so we can balance out the current illegals here .

That's a great premise. Since 9/11. You just kinda get to discount that one. So how many Americans were killed by terrorists as of 9/10/01? Sure let's let anyone in because a lot of people haven't been killed since the day a lot of people were killed.

No twisting, just responding to the notion of "If it was good enough for our forefathers......" Just because our forefathers allowed criminals to migrate to this country doesn't mean we should.

Do you think we should really close our borders to all people from all countries even those travelling for business or tourism?

These terrorist come from everywhere.  They are not just Syrians.  In fact none of the ones involved in the Paris attacks were Syrians.  So we are going to have to keep out every single person from France.
