Evangelical Leaders once again sell Christianity out for Trump...

As Trump's lawyer pleads guilty for things including paying off porn stars and prostitutes for Trump who is on his 3rd wife all of which he's cheated on, most recently with porn stars and prostitutes.......

Even as Trump handles the death of an American Vet and National hero with disgrace and shame. Lacking the class of true Christians, how can our leaders support this? What would Jesus have done? They want us to believe Jesus would have handled it like Trump?

The "leaders" of Christianity have rally behind Trump to prompt him up as our moral compass. Someone their children look up to. Someone who shares their morals.

Will Christianity survive Trump? Never has the word of God been tested like this in the modern era. Who will bring credibility to the Church after this? It's a sad moment in history for Christianity.

I hate to speak ill of Evangelicals and our Christian leaders, but Trump's sending many of them straight to Hell.

Only question is will they blame Hillary at the pearly gates....

I think we know the answer!

Which 'church" are you speaking of?  There are many Christian churches.

The Christian Church is a blanket term as there are lots of denominations of us Protestants.

It's different than the Catholic Church, which hasn't thrown itself at Trump's feet.

They want him to kill legal abortions.  He needs a pretty backdrop for his supporters to see him as a religious/good man.

They're all whores.

Catholics can't throw themselves at Trump's feet because they are too busy throwing themselves at boys' genitals.  Hardy har. On a lighter note, it seemed a bit wacky when the moral majority abandoned Jimmy Carter for Hollywood playboy, Ronald Reagan, but this is just a whole new level of insanity. I really hope Christianity is legit so these people have to face Jesus in the afterlife. Ye gods....did I just find a reason to believe?

Reagan was palatable. One divorce, not a whole lot of baggage. And I believe his divorce was very amicable. I think his ex campaigned for him.

The Trump thing is weird though. The whole 'we can only have wholesome values restored by a guy with multiple ex-wives, a history of sexual/physical assault, and who has been thoroughly dishonest' is kind of amazing. It's like hiring Dahmer to prepare food for your vegetarian children.

Yes. Christianity has 'survived' for thousands of years. One man is NOT going to bring it down.

The word of God has been tested far worse than this. Heck, there are countries in the world TODAY where you're killed if you're a Christian.

Well I know, so I'm wondering which church he doesn't think will survive or keep its reputation.

So if evangelicals do something (which also consists of different denominations), you think people will hold Catholics or Presbyterians responsible?  sounds a lot like calling all Muslims terrorists.

As long as there are questions that we cannot give concrete answers to there will always be religion in some form.

I'd argue otherwise. Never before has our Leaders led this new moral standard/acceptance. Never before have they told us this is who holds our moral compass. Held a man with Trumps background on such pedestal.

They've fought against those attempts to end Christianity and suffered great losses, but never have they led these new rules of Christianity. Rules that have surely brought the credibility of the Church down.

You do realize that Christianity is not one big group with a singular leader, right? There are many different churches that fall under the Christian umbrella - many that disagree on a variety of things, not the least of which is politics. Most of these public "leaders" don't lead squat. They don't have congregations and they don't have followers. And even the ones that are, don't speak for Christianity as a whole. Sure, they TRY to and people in the media legitamize them, but that doesn't change the fact that these "leaders" don't speak for most of Christianity.

As such, when these leaders inevitably say and/or do something stupid, it has minimal effect on Christianity as a whole.

We get you dont like Trump, but this is just a way over the top reaction to Trump dining with some Evangelicals.

I mean cmon, seriously. After all the bs the Catholic Church has pulled over the centuries through present day, some Evangelicals meeting with Trump will end credibility?

Jesus is not running for office....  And is pretty much a fictional character.. So what he would have done is probly wash someones feet.

cause that's what they did back then

As a Christian, I hope true evangelicals do not turn their backs on Trump; as I would hope they do not turn their backs on anyone. It is true that Trump is a flawed man, but as my boy Jesus said "He without sin...."

I cannot explain the dynamic between God, man, and evil; perhaps the OP can.

Also, where is Jesus' birth certificate?

Jesus said a lot of stuff our culture seems to ignore.

There is a difference between praying for the sinner and the sheer hypocrisy of blind support purely for political gain.  Not that I expect them (or people who think like them) to admit that.

Edit: At least if he was LOOKING for forgiveness I'd give them a little bit. But he sees nothing wrong with anything he has ever done.
