Sadly, yes please.

If we can get a 3rd (or more) and free up all that cap space…

draft a tight end or running back or guard or other position,
AND add a legit player in FA.
No brainer.

Really happy he requested a trade.
Otherwise we likely keep him.
Trade him for nothing and get the 12 mil off the books is a win imo.

I just don’t understand these board members excited over 12m of cap space for a GIGANTIC hole in the OLINE.

For Carmen? Adeniji? Smith? Ford?

Please rewatch the AFC Championship game and get back to me. You trust Bengals to draft a plug and play rookie tackle for game 1?

I just don't understand the board members that don't understand Jonah has asked for a trade. Perhaps he knows he can't play RT. Whit admitted that he couldn't play RT if asked.

When we first signed Lil Zeus  I was excited about the options of Jonah playing LG or RT, but once he stated he wanted no part of that; I'm ready to part ways.

2 stud receivers is different than RT and LT

$12.6 million extra to spend on somebody that wants to be here is why.

And a 3rd round pick this draft is better than a 3rd round comp (really a 4th) in 2025 draft

I wonder if Jonah woke up one day and forgot the team owner is Mike Brown..  Did he pick up the phone one day and say, "Hello, Carson?"

I went to the bears board, because others have said they have cap space, draft picks and a need for LT. They have a Jonah Williams thread and not a single person wants him lol.

I don’t think we can get more than a 6th for him. And I’d still trade him. I’d rather have Carman and a rookie battle it out. I’d also cut Collins and Mixon. That would free up like $30M. There’s your T Higgins money. But I think they already have that set aside. So this 30M could be used elsewhere

Trading is still an option. Someone mentioned Havenstein from the Rams in another thread for a mid round pick.  Thata probably been mentioned I'm this one 14 pages in, but either way you can add a solid vet still.

There’s still some pass rushers but signing Scott likely ends any run at Gardner which would have been something to dream of using the extra money saved if Williams was traded. There’s not many external players left we could spend the extra money on.

The pick would be the need.

Because he’s 41 years old.

He played both guard spots for the Bengals.  I’m sure he would have played RT if asked when he was 25.

It’s Super Bowl or bust. You lost the last two super bowls because you couldn’t protect #9. Depth and competent bodies please. You can always tag Tee if you have to next year.

I can only go by what he said, not what you say. he stated some people can switch between LT and RT but he's not one.

It’s clearly about the $ with Jonah. He’s in a contract year and wants to be paid as a LT wherever he ends up.

If Cedric Ogbuehi and Bobby Hart can have NFL careers so can Jonah Williams who is a far better player than either of them. If the right deal comes along they’ll trade him. Otherwise he’ll walk into free agency.

He has almost 13 million reasons to play this season with his next contract on the line.
