Kid Arrested For Making A.......Clock?
#1
How did no one involved stop and think, "Are we freaking out because the kid is Muslim, or are we freaking out because it's a real threat"? The good news is the lucky tax payers of the Irving Texas will get to pay for this kids college education after he easily wins a lawsuit.

Quote:I recommend using this opportunity to talk with your child about the Student Code of Conduct and specifically not bringing items to school that are prohibited. Also, this is a good time to remind your child how important it is to immediately report any suspicious items and/or suspicious behavior they observe to any school employee so we can address it right away. We will always take necessary precautions to protect our students.

Student's fault for being smart and wanting to show his teacher.

Quote:“They were like, ‘So you tried to make a bomb?’” Ahmed said.

“I told them no, I was trying to make a clock.”

“He said, ‘It looks like a movie bomb to me.’”

That's exactly what a terrorist would say.
“History teaches that grave threats to liberty often come in times of urgency, when constitutional rights seem too extravagant to endure.”-Thurgood Marshall

The only reason that this should have caused alarm (pun intended), is if it had a mode where there were a countdown and it was observed.

If Obama had a son, he'd look just like Ahmed

An English teacher took it from him because she thought it was a bomb? I'm sure the drawer under her desk was a really safe place to keep a confiscated bomb.

The teacher in question who found the clock threatening
#14
The bell rang at least twice, he said, while the officers searched his belongings and questioned his intentions. The principal threatened to expel him if he didn’t make a written statement, he said. ....... Tell the police what they want to hear or face punishment. A bunch of Muslim lawyers are about to teach these Texans a lesson in American law.

“We have no information that he claimed it was a bomb,” McLellan said. “He kept maintaining it was a clock, but there was no broader explanation.”......... He can't prove it's not something illegal outside of explaining to us what a clock is so let's handcuff him until he can.

He just wants to invent good things for mankind,” said Ahmed’s father, Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed, who immigrated from Sudan and occasionally returns there to run for president......... So this guy is casually a presidential candidate?

What frustrates me about situations like this is that this kid could have grown up, and likely still will, to be an engineer or a scientist helping to develop great things for our country and potentially the world. But incidents like this are what drive people down the path of disdain for our country. He will always remember the way he was treated on this day, it will forever be in his memory. Hopefully he will receive enough of a positive response that this event will not be a black mark in his memory

Well put.  Im quite certain his ambitions will be embraced.  He and his family may need to move, but it will be worth their while.
