He also showed up at my house the next summer in tears because the girl he worked his church's bingo with didn't want to go out with him or return his affections.  He was 20. She was 14.

Go be peaceful but if people I don't like get hurt or killed, so much the better.  I admit there is a lot of money to be made encouraging Americans to treat each other as enemies.  We are addicted to outrage and violence.  

People want to harm each other, they don't always need encouragement for it, but it helps and that's a big part of politics now. We got numb to having enemies across the ocean, we need a bigger hit of fear now so the enemy is next door. 

We are flat out junkies for outrage.  Nobody ever says I want to be a junkie when I grow up.  But we were conditioned to only see specific drugs as dangerous and life ruining addictions.

As I've said before, in 2016 I was all "Meh, may as well see what Trump does as president" and now I'm discussing whether or not his 4th indictment and the marketing of his mugshot will make him more or less likely to win the 2024 election.  Trump has exceeded the standards of the most sky-falling liberal predictions I was brushing off as hyperbolic 7 years ago.

I clearly lean left, but I haven't voted left since 2008 and I only voted for Obama once because I was pissed the GOP didn't pick Ron Paul or Rudy Giuliani...my first 2 choices were republicans.  I didn't even vote for Biden in 2020, preferring to waste my vote on a crap libertarian rather than the 2016 vote for Gary Johnson that I whole-heartedly believed in.

So, let me say that Trump getting indicted and having a mug shot makes me lean away from him, not that I was ever leaning towards him outside of not voting D.  Am I an independent?  Well, I voted like one, but I guess I'm lamentably blue no matter who (though there are some democrats from 2022 victories that I'm quite fond of) for the time being.  Take that for what it's worth.



tl;dr - the GOP's obsession with Trump and only Trump has led me to no longer be able to vote 3rd party and delude myself into thinking the pressing issue is both side equally sucking

Dam i need 12k votes, make sure those chads are punched properly.  OMG I'm trying to overthrow an election.

When will you learn that many Trump Supporters  don't care and see it as a political attack period? Even if charged, MANY will still feel the same. Some or a Miniscule amount might leave the flock, but the majority won't and will just dig in even deeper.

I think that people are slowly processing the fact that he is going to jail. Some people might be offended but justice is not about feelings.

BTW, to all those people who think it doesn't have to be in a trial, what about his co defendants ? Might be the only one not to be judged for his crime while his cronies will ? Or it is just a total exoneration for everybody involved ?
