Silver Lining in years of Bungals futility.... |

It seems the years of playoff losses and just terrible years in general have this team aware nothing matters but what they do in the playoffs and it really seems to be the catalyst for not getting complacent with a great start. Glad to see years of terrible football cultivate in this team to the point where a playoff win at minimum that will quench their thirst!

OK I know this is a pretty lame post but i was just watching the top 10 best TD dances and was wanting to know which one of the All Time Bengals TD dances was your favorite. I didnt care for them myself but i though the CJ CPR was pretty funny but my favorite was not Icky (hated it) or Chad, It was Kelly Washington's Squirrel Dance.

Just wanted to let everyone know that in 8 games on the year, Whitworth has given up:
0 Sacks
0 Hits
4 Hurries
Really the oline has been great as a whole though (aside from Bodine for a lot of the year), but he's just on another level.
But no, Joe Thomas will make the PB with his 2 sacks, over 15 pressures on the year and 7 alone against us, while our boy doesn't get a sniff. Hopefully he'll be recognised this year, but I doubt it.

Marvin Lewis Postgame Interview |

Everyone has always hated on Marvin's interviews and press conferences, and rightfully so, but his postgame news conference after the Browns game was actually a good one.
Was a down-to-earth video with no giggles or anything (he did laugh for half a second when asked if he was happy to get Thursday Night Football out of the way, which was kind of a funny question considering how much it sucks to play on Thursday nights) and he just sounded like it's business as usual and time to move on to the next game.
He addressed how they made it a focal point to keep Manziel in the pocket after halftime (nice halftime adjustment) and that they got him down quickly when he did get out of the pocket.
He talked about drives and plans and just all-around coaching talk that made me more confident in his abilities than ever before and like he'll lead the team where it needs to go. Mentioned how it's important to score right out of the gate and to start both halves strong.
Maybe my favorite part was when they asked him about what 8-0 means and he just said that it "means we're halfway through the season. We don't get anything for this. Gotta take it one week at a time and be the best we can be." (Paraphrased)
I love how he sounds like a leader and he's not all giddy like a schoolgirl anymore over a win because he's focused on the big picture.
I think he's finally the coach that can lead us where we want to go, which is nice because Andy and the rest of the team are also playing at a level that will take us where we want to go.
Hell of a time to be a Bengals fan!

I was just curious about Kroft, didnt see him on the field or the inactive list the past couple games, Is he hurt? I know with the way Eifert is playing there's no real need to play him but it would be nice to see both on the field from time to time.

Bengals - A great franchise |

Have not posted much this year but I need to say something to all my friends from the old Bengals.com forum.
For years and years we complained about how the team was poorly run, Mike Brown was cheap, they had no plan, etc.
Let's take stock today.
Mike Brown is not cheap as established by how much money the Bengals spend on players compared to other teams. He spends the money on players who come up through our team and earn it by hard work and top performance.
5 or 6 years ago they definitely established a long term plan to stay out of free agency and develop through the draft.
Mike Brown is patient and loyal. He is a throw back when many if not most companies - particularly when owned by a family - treated all their employees that way. Stability, loyalty and fair treatment of employees has been very good for this franchise.
I will always wonder if the shabby treatment of Mike's Dad by that idiot Art Model has had a big impact on how Mike and his family treat their employees.
People who have constantly trashed Andy do not remember the Ken Anderson or Boomer history. Early in their career they were not as successful as Andy has been through last year with fans calling for their heads until the light really went on in their fifth or sixth season and the management built a really good team around them.
Right now, we have one of the most stacked rosters in the league ( with very few free agents) with players on bench and practice squad who could be starters on many other teams.
I had my share of frustrating comments on the old board/. So I just want to say thank you to the Bengals management for adopting a game plan, sticking with it, and making a commitment to excellence that is really paying off.

Tim Brown's Analogy |

So I had to see a contractor today and caught an amazing comment by HOF WR Tim Brown on The Sirius Blitz during the drive.
He stated that last night's game was like disciplining the children in the car.
In he first half, he said the Browns were in the back seat being loud and making noise, and we kept saying "keep it down back there", but weren't bothered by it.
In the 3rd quarter, he said, they took it too far; so put the fear in them with the "Don't make me pull this car over" in the stern voice and they shut the hell up.
Loved it!
