  Mental Toughness
Posted by: OrlandoBengal - 10-11-2015, 11:39 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - No Replies

I truly think this was a statement win today. The interception to end the first half, then the long touchdown run, and Burkhead's fumble for a touchdown. The offense came out and looked completely out of synch. In the past, this team would not have been able to overcome all that... they would have crumbled. The defense tightened up and the offense was able to get it moving.
Seattle has been in the Super Bowl the last two years, and was by far the best defense they have faced all year. To go on a run and score 20 straight points was HUGE. This is the type of game that will give them confidence not only during the regular season, but well into the playoffs. I think today may have been a turning point for this organization.

So I logged into Facebook for the first time in a few weeks to see what people were saying and I came across this.

Pretty cool, right? AJ Green certainly thought so.

I go to read the comments and this is the first comment with 91 "likes".

If AJ reads the comments this will be the first one he sees.

"AJ you have class.......Johnson was a loud mouth. 5-0 who dey!"

What is that going to say to AJ Green? What is the point of that? To me it says that a majority of our fans don't have any appreciation for past Bengal greats. That they are expendable. That if they screw up they will be booed and trash will be thrown on their lawns.

If you have a Facebook account i implore you to log in and say something to that guy and his 91 "friends". I did my part.

  Seahawks Forum fans

After watching all the trash talking and hard hitting Seattle play and hearing about the incessant 12th man in Seattle (and how their stadium was built to reverb sound) - I would have thought Seahawk fans would be like Patriots fans (AKA hard to talk to) - but reading their forum, several threads have their fans backing us up.

Whenever someone blames something other than Seattle's play, they will say things like:

  • Andy has been doing this all year, we're not making him look like a hall of famer, he's good.
  • Their OC is top tier, calling plays that line up 4 WRs on one side of the field with AJ singled out and getting a 1st down - our OC would call a run on 3rd down (lol). They're all calling for the OC head.
  • They're 4-0, now 5-0. We didn't "give the game away."
  • "Who have the Bengals beat all year? We're the toughest Defense they'll face yet." "Who have we beat? Bears & Lions."
  • Surprising or not many don't like R. Wilson (not just due to this game). At least most of us are getting on the same page about ours, lol. So yeah, even after you win a superbowl, you're still going to not like things about your team (AKA Wilson)
Although during the game they were pretty hot-headed, afterwards most have given props.

I wonder what Colin Cowturd Has To Say About Andy Dalton Now?
Posted by: Clep - 10-11-2015, 10:23 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (22)

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/video/andy-dalton-is-extremely-overrated-the-herd-100515

Last week he said Bengals are 4-0 no thanks to Andy Dalton. Wonder what he has to say this week on his show? As if the previous 4 games weren't enough? Hats off to Andy Dalton today, he played lights out again against a great defense. I was at the Jungle today and it was ROCKIN! WHO DEY!

  Thank you Earth's rotation?

Just saw this article on ESPN.com that says we can thank the Earth's rotation for the lucky deflection off the goal post on the winning FG. Think I've heard it all now.

  Whitworth quote

This says so much about Whit and this TEAM. WHO DEY!!

Quote:On the team’s attitude that sparked the Bengals’ comeback ...

“The most impressive thing to me was that I kept hearing young guys saying what we preach — staying even-keeled, just ride the train and let it keep moving forward. Even when the lead got to 17 points, that’s all guys were saying on the sideline. It wasn’t ‘rah-rah’ speeches or anything, just, ‘Hey man, stay exactly who we are and we’ll get ourselves back in this thing.’ The truth is, that’s the reality. We gave them 10 points, and it was a 17-point lead, but it was really a 10-point lead that we gave them. We knew we had a chance to get back in and be better than them.”

Seattle usually doesn’t give up lead when it has them. What does a comeback like this say about your team?

“You don’t know what it means for your season, but I can tell you this: That’s the most talented group of rushers and (overall) defense that we’ve ever faced. They’ve got guys everywhere that are good. We’ve said all along that this was going to be an extremely talented team, but we believe we are too. Being able to overcome what we did against that kind of talent is a heck of a message.”
