  Trent Brown-out for season
Posted by: pally - 09-24-2024, 12:04 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (31)

He tore his patellar tendon. Our 3rd one this year. That’s an unusual enough injury that it’s very weird to have 3 on one team in a single season.

Mims needs to show up

Joesphi OSSAI is a BONAFIDE SCRUB

Yet another example of the Bengals drafting poorly on defense. Adding insult to injury, he's hurt almost as much as Lawson but his productivity is MUCH less than Lawson's when both are on the field.

At this point, we need to pray; and I MEAN, ***** PRAY that I'm wrong about Murphy being overhyped garbage. Ossai is all of the ass, and all of the berries.

I'll shave my head.

I said the same thing in the Discord chat, last night, so I'm posting it here so I can't weasel out of the bet.
I will also post "before" and "after" pics to prove I'm not already bald.   Tongue

Duke Tobin and the Bengals are WHIFFING in the draft
Posted by: WeezyBengal - 09-24-2024, 10:07 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (39)

Blame the coaches, blame the defense, blame whoever.

The real issue? The talent on the roster. It's not good enough, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

The 2021 Super Bowl team was built on free agency - Reader, Chido, Hendrickson, Hilton, Reiff, Vonn Bell. The Bengals have added or replaced some of that talent bringing in Cappa, Karras, Orlando Brown Jr, Geno Stone, Rankins who are on their current roster.

My question is this - where are the draft picks? Other than the Burrow and Chase LAY UPS, who have we drafted since 2019 that you'd consider a good positional NFL player? Higgins, CTB, Logan Wilson. That's it.

The Bengals have WHIFFED in the draft over the past 5 years.

When is Duke Tobin going to be held accountable? Who's responsible for the drafting of guys, especially on the defensive side of the ball? Does Lou have a say? Because he sure seemed giddy every time he was at the podium after we drafted 3 straight defensive players in the first 3 rounds last year.

They need more out of the draft. We can't continue whiffing on first round picks like Dax Hill and second round picks like Jackson Carman. We can't have drafts like 2021 where literally no one is contributing other than Chase. Everyone LOVED this years class, but who is contributing on the defensive side of the ball? It's been pathetic.

The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly
Posted by: Go Cards - 09-24-2024, 09:17 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (38)

The Good

It's only 3 games into a long season and we've been here before. Actually the Good may be coming by default per 10 of the 16 AFC teams have losing records. The Wildcard teams to beat presently are the Jets 2-1, Chargers 2-1, and probably the 1-2 Ravens.

The Bengals can get back in this if they can just get off the schneid and get rolling. The good news is that the Bengals remaining schedule are against teams that currently  own a combined losing record of 19-23.
If you removed the undefeated steelers (which I'm not scared of) then the teams combined records are 13-23. The AFC is waiting for the Bengals to catch up if they would only do their part.

The Bad

These lethargic starts Zac's Bengals keep coming out of the gate in are just bad. You can not keep spotting the entire NFL a head start and expect to make it up by playoff time yearly. Zac is 5-13 in his first 3 games of the season since becoming the Bengals HC losing to rookies and 2nd string QB's all along the way. He has only had a winning record once in first 3 games, and that was the year the Bengals went to the SB.
Still support Zac as HC but have never supported him as OC. Understand wanting to stay healthy but can not just throw away games early every year to do so. Figure something else out please.

The Fugly

The Defense is a porous sieve that can not slow the run at all and do not see any waving of a wand that can rectify this problem. Nor pass per Daniels completed all but 2 of his passes last night. The Bengals just lost two home games against the 2nd and 3rd worse teams in the entire NFL last season, and both were featuring rookie QB's, both at HOME. Washington never even had to punt. WASHINGTON, palm meet forehead.
I once trusted in Lou but that has been proven to be a mistake on my part. Although he has been hit the hardest with FA departures, yet still this is unacceptable not getting hardly any production out a slew of high draft picks.

...........................................................................................................
In closing I am merely venting to stay sane. The defense was not the problem against the Patriots, plus played well enough against KC before this Commodore debacle last night. Commodore was the wrong insult to hurl per the defense was anything but a Brick House on prime-time Monday Night Football for the whole world to see.
The team just needs to somehow find it's chemistry together and get the ball rolling. The Bengals play a manageable schedule and the AFC as a whole is stuck in the mud coming out of the gate cushioning the Bengals current ineptitude somewhat by giving them a better chance to catch up than an 0-3 start deserves. Got to find some traction and get back into the mix before the playoff picture tumbles out of control the opposite direction. Think the Bengals climb the ladder once again and are in the playoff picture by seasons end. Just hope the 0-3 ball & chain does not cause them to fall just short when they arrive.

Not throwing in the towel yet, but feel like my confidence has taken a sucker punch immediately following the handshake.

Go for it.  Let's here is about the Defense so far in 2024.

  Rookies & Backups
Posted by: TKUHL - 09-24-2024, 01:03 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (4)

We always joke about this but this really is embarrasing. I’ve been a fan of this team my entire life (51) what is the real reason why we completely suck against rookie/back up QB’s. Is it lack of film, preparation, arrogance??? It’s been this way through multiple coaches. Other teams chomp at the bit going against these guys, not us. We don’t just make these guys look good, I’m talking record setting good. Can anyone explain this? wtf is going on with this franchise.

  Lou anarumo
Posted by: Tlawsonmariat82 - 09-24-2024, 12:55 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (132)

This organization has truly failed lou anarumo,he predicted this outcome when they didn't want to pay Jessie bates then they didn't want to pay DJ reader..In lou's defense he pleaded with the organization to do whatever they could to keep the two stalwarts, he even went as far as saying he truly feared what life would be like without them..

just watching the overall scheme recently it's very noticeable how we don't play as much press coverage, and the single high cover 3 zone concepts are nowhere near as effective as they once was..Lou also has a fear of bringing aggressive pressures where the corners are playing closer to the Los fearing getting beat over the top..

It was fun while it lasted this team has hit rock bottom, don't know what the final record will be just know that with this defense the season is over, this defense is embarrassing and it's completely on the front office, we have cap space that we're sitting on we could've made real moves to improve but we we're content with signing rankings smdh..

The best offense in the league wouldve lost today.
Posted by: Housh - 09-24-2024, 12:38 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (12)

Saints average 34.3 PPG and we gave up 38 to a rookie QB.

No team in the league wouldve won with how ass the defense was.

Why is Lou still employed? He hasnt been good since 2021.
