[New Responsive Theme] |

I started working on a new theme a few months back to replace the current mobile theme...but it got put on the shelf because I just didn't have the time. I've started working on it again, and it's currently about 85-90% finished. It's meant to be fully responsive and optimized to work on all devices.
If you guys could check it out and give me your feedback, especially if you notice any issues, it would be greatly appreciated.
You can view the responsive theme by going to the theme selector at the bottom right corner of the board and selecting 'Responsive'.
When you want to return to the theme you were using, just find the paintbrush icon at the bottom right of the responsive theme and select your theme.
Thanks, BJ

So I posted a meltdown thread week 1. Many factors influenced the conception of that thread. Some were based in the realities of the excruciating Chase drama, doubled with the Higgins surprise injury. I can assure everyone here that the thoughts in those posts were 100 percent based in how I felt about the team at the time. Unfortunately, my hunch was (to and extent) pretty accurate and the Bengals lost to a vastly inferior opponent. The Burrow era being over was a bit reactive to the moment. Frankly, I was nuclear-pissed that the best day of the year, ie NFL opening day was being shit on.
Here's how I view this team at 0-2 with reinforcements on the way: I think that this team will be viewed as an offensive juggernaut by Halloween. Burrow is fine. The o-line is not elite, but it's easily good enough and possible better than any we've seen in this era. Then they get Mims. Lee is in the wings. Depth.
Then, you have the rookie skill players. I think that Erick All is going to be a dude. He's physical as a blocker, and his role as a receiver is likely to be increased. He's taken almost no time at all to adjust to the physicality of the pro game. If healthy, he's going to be a big factor.
Burton. He's not a guy I was happy to see them draft, but he seems to be doing all that's asked of him. I view sets with Burton and Tee on the outside and Chase in the slot as an absolute nightmare for defensive coordinators. Chase is no longer eye candy in that set and both guys on the outside make freak show catches.
Chase Brown. If they finally commit to giving him carries, he's going to be successful. He looks incredibly fast.
All the personnel is in place right now. Better TEs. Better usage of the TEs. A legit 3rd down blocking back in Moss. Yet another young deep threat in Burton.
I can't say I love the lack of readiness or urgency early in the season. I also still believe that the Chase contract debacle is an existential threat to the way the organization operates. Even so, nobody will care about these losses when this team is steamrolling opponents midseason on the way to a deep playoff run.
We've not even begun to see what this group is capable of when they start running on all cylinders.

No not Ja'Marr losing $31,000 though I though the amount was excessive.
It was Yoshi getting fined for a bow and arrow celebration. How many times has Joe done that with no fine

He did his job if a team doubles/triples him all game. Even if he didn’t catch 1 ball, he’s done his job if he garners that much attention.
The things that’s making him mad really is that no one else is eating. It’s easy to sit in double/triple team hell when you’ve got a dude across from you eating good. But when you’re getting that much attention and no one else is doing shit that can make you very frustrated and that’s what we saw VS the Chiefs.
With that said Jamarr has to stay engaged. Not every team is going to defend him like this
Chiefs did if because Jamarr is their daddy and they are scary bitches whenever they even see Uno line up.
He wil have great games this year, he’s gotta be patient. No other WR gets the level of attention he gets and that’s not an opinion
With that said Zac Taylor has got to recognize when teams play this insane defense and he’s gotta scheme the ball to go to other guys. If teams are doing cover 3/2 hybrids to limit Chase we’ve gotta send routes deep, we’ve gotta punish them for dedicating 3 guys to Jamarr. When Jamarr has bad games it’s on Zac cause Jamar isn’t a scrub.

CTB on Jayden Daniels |

"They don't make him do a lot, Nice college offense".
I mean, if you're going to talk shit, you might as well go for the jugular. The only reason I can get on board with him talking trash like that is because he can back up his words with his actions on the field. Did anyone happen to see that one handed snatch INT of the Pat Mahommes pass last week?

Quote:CINCINNATI —
The Cincinnati Bengals will face a rookie quarterback Monday night as the team aims for its first win of the 2024 season, hosting the Washington Commanders.
Led by this year's No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, quarterback Jayden Daniels, Washington enters play at 1-1, while the Bengals are 0-2.
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner during his final season at LSU, Daniels has completed 75 percent of his passes with no passing touchdowns or interceptions through two games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants.
Daniels has been a threat in the running game, rushing for 132 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns.
On Thursday, Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt was asked about Daniels and how the Bengals will plan to stop the dynamic rookie.

"They don't make him do a lot," Taylor-Britt said. "They keep it really simple for him. Nice college offense, (Kliff) Kingsbury, the OC, so they move guys around here and there, but just keep it real simple for him."
Taylor-Britt mentioned Daniels' high completion percentage, but added that he has mainly thrown passes short and into the intermediate area of the field.
"Make sure on the outside that we're winning our one-on-ones, because he can stretch the plays and extend them," Taylor-Britt said.
Last week, pregame comments by Taylor-Britt went viral before the Bengals took on the Kansas City Chiefs. Taylor-Britt was asked how rookie Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy has an impact on the KC offense.
"Speed, that's about it," Taylor-Britt said of Worthy, who scored two touchdowns in Kansas City's Week 1 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. "He just run straight, run jet sweeps and just run straight, he can't do too much else."
Taylor-Britt allowed a long touchdown pass to Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice on Sunday but also recorded an impressive interception on a deep shot to Worthy along the sideline.

PFF - 2 CBs in the Top 20 coverage |

Believe it or not, the Bengals have two guys on PFF's Top 20 coverage ratings for CBs.
Dax Hill is 18th at 75.6 coverage rating. He has a 71.3 rating overall.
CTB is...1st! He has an elite 88.6 coverage rating with 83.5 rating overall.
I just thought it was worth singing some praises for this CB group, especially for Hill, who many were super down on after last season.
If Hill keeps it up, he'll be a good starting CB in the league and have a long career.

Bengals training camp, hire a consultant? |

Watching NE tonight and they look like crap, got me thinking. ZT is what, 1 and 11 first two games. Obvious coming out of camp not prepared.
Should we hire an out side consultant to review our pre season/off season and advise how to get a good start? Belichick, Saban. You know a good coach. It is clear we suck the 1st two games.
I know we did good last week but still lost.
Business do this when they get stuck. And I believe the bengals are stuck the 1st two games.
Who day
