Describe the 2025 Super Bowl game clinching play that you would want to see happen

.

Rams fans got to enjoy Aaron Donald's game clinching sack of Joe Burrow to clinch the Super Bowl played in February of 2022.

I'm hoping that Bengal Fans will finally get their game clinching play soon in the Super Bowl to be played in 2025.

Describe the 2025 Super Bowl game clinching play that you would want to see happen.

What's your play that would go down in History as the game clinching play.

Example:

4th and goal for the Bengals on their opponents 3 yard line with 11 seconds left in the 4th quarter with the Bengals

being down by 5 points and Joe Burrow throws a TD pass to Amarius Mims who is tackle eligible to receive it.

  Am I Unrealistically Excited?!
Posted by: BFritz21 - 06-11-2024, 05:31 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (63)

I'm usually an optimistic, but realistic, fan of this team.

I'm always hoping and cheering but I've never been this optimistic for the team.

My main reason for such high optimism this season is Joe Burrow, but more specifically the offensive line, because he led us to the Super Bowl and AFC Championship Game with a shitty offensive line, which now rankings have our line in the top ten or top fifteen. Karras might be a weak spot but I'd rather the weak spot be one at center than our tackles where speed rushers can get to Burrow. I'm excited for Cappa and Brown.

Burrow has had injuries, but he appears to be healthy, so won't he rip the league apart?

At running back, we had Mixon and Perine and it wasn't too impressive. Now, we have Moss and Brown, which I've said a lot that I think Brown's underrated and Moss is also better than he's given credit for.

At receiver, we might not be as good, but we still have Chase and Higgins (hopefully), and teams will have to sell-out to stop Chase, especially with the line giving Burrow time to throw, so any receiver will be able to produce with less coverage and a better running game. I've also voiced my optimism about Burton.

Gesicki and Hurst might be a wash, but I like that Gesicki's 6'6 and I think Burrow will look for him a lot in the red zone and on third downs.

On the defensive line, we have Hubbard and Hendrickson at ends, with Sample, Murphy and Ossai backing them up, which is pretty much the same.

At tackle, we did have Reader, Hill, and Carter, and now we have Rankins, Hill, Jenkins, and Carter, so I feel like that's an improvement.

At backer, we're pretty much the same (I think?).

At corner, we had Apple, Awuzie, Hilton, and Flowers, and now we have CTB, Turner, and Hilton, and I think Dax could be taking over the slot position, which I like, so I feel like that's also a wash.

At safety, we had Bell, Bates, Thomas, and Dax, and now we have Bell, Stone, and Battle, so I feel like that's a wash.

The only position I think that we might be weaker is receiver, but Burrow can make anyone look good, especially with Chase out there, and we improved GREATLY on the position group that kept us from winning the title in our first two playoff runs, the offensive line, so am I wrong for being this optimistic?

What am I missing? Why are people in the football world not higher on us?

  Thank You Taylor and Boese

Another reason the community has changed their view of the Bengals locally

From the Enquirer:

Cincinnati's Ault Park fireworks are happening after all − thanks to a surprise savior, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor made a large donation, as did the team's director of player performance and head strength and conditioning coach, Joey Boese.

Council member Seth Walsh told The Enquirer on Monday that fundraising efforts − including from Taylor − raised the $32,000 needed to save the 58th annual Ault Park Fireworks.

Also that one of the main Bengals under Taylor had such positive words for Cincy.. times sure have changed it seems

It’s too slow on here… but

To make a run for the Super Bowl IMO we need these things to happen or players to step up. Obviously Joey B’s health and the team in general goes without saying.

In no particular order….

1. Always the OL … Either Brown or Mims have to deliver and the running game not be an after thought.
2. Chase Brown… I was reading where 33rd team has him the fifth fastest player. He has elite speed. Then he needs plays designed to make it happen.
3. Mike Gesicki …. Early reports are good. If he can penetrate the deep middle zone the double coverage of Tee & Chase will be exposed.
4. D J Turner or Dax Hill…. Biggest position unknown on the 22. Somebody has to emerge
5. Sheldon Rankins & Kris Jenkins…. The DL did not produce well enough and it affected the whole defense. D J Reader was a like a stone pillar and also the leagues most physical to move. Disruptive as hell. He won’t be replaced but our pass rush will better with those 2. So more sacks is a good thing.
6. Jermaine Burton…. If he can become a factor on the outside teams are going to have a rough time. With Chase & Gesicki both in the slot somebody is going to be open. I’ve said this before I think in several 3rd and longs Sample will be in the backfield. They’ll have 6 to block it and Sample lends a ton to protection.
I think the surprise player on this roster will be Gesicki. I think Mims is a surprise. I think Jenkins is a surprise. But Chase Brown on the field more. Gesicki as a threat. Burton as a threat. The offense is much much tougher to defend.

  Zimmer v. Anarumo
Posted by: jj22 - 06-08-2024, 12:28 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (55)

Now that Livingston is in Colorado, the last lineage of the Marvin / Zimmer defensive scheme has left the building with him. Maybe some knowledge and experience from an outside scheme will be missed.

Has Anarumo scheme been better than Zimmer’s?

Zimmer had some top defenses in the league but could never hold at the end of half’s. They weren’t necessarily clutch.

Lou’s defense has never been a top D in the league, but has come up big in big games and key moments.

How would you rank the schemes?

How would they rank compared to DC schemes of Bengals past.
