He loved the vibe as soon as he got into the building. It seems like the Bengals made the right choice in signing this upbeat, positive minded DT to the club.

Quote:CINCINNATI —
The Cincinnati Bengals are continuing offseason workouts this week and recently welcomed a new face to the facility.
Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins, an eight-year NFL veteran, arrived for his first offseason as a member of the Bengals, fresh off signing a two-year, $26 million deal in March.
Discussing his first impression of his new home in Cincinnati and the culture around the Bengals' locker room, Rankins explained his sky-high expectations for the 2024 season.
This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.
"It's Super Bowl or bust," Rankins said Tuesday. "I think that was part of my decision to come here, understanding that my football age is getting up there and to be a part of something special, to be a part of truly going for it all, be a part of doing something different with an organization like this was a big reason for being here."
The 29-year-old Rankins has spent time with three different organizations, including the New Orleans Saints, who drafted him in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
A former Louisville Cardinal, Rankins was with the Saints from 2016 through 2020, starting each game in 2017 and 2018 before injuries limited him to 24 games combined the next two seasons.
After moving on from the Saints, Rankins played two seasons with the New York Jets in 2021 and 2022, totaling six sacks and 75 total tackles during his time in New York.
Rankins signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans in 2023, totaling six sacks and a fumble recovery in 15 games for the playoff-bound Texans.
Now with his fourth NFL organization, Rankins is impressed by what he sees inside the walls of Paycor Stadium as the Bengals chase down their elusive first Super Bowl ring.
"First class all the way around and just everything is geared toward playing in February in New Orleans," Rankins said.

This might be kind of sad, but I’m actually so damn proud of this organization and it makes me so happy that our players finally have some of the best resources in the league!
Rookie Kris Jenkins is blown away by our facilities and equipment!
https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/allbengals-insiders-plus/kris-jenkins-blown-away-by-bengals-facilities-the-technology-is-lit-01hzevdea6tc?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR0CAYIaTag_dskGiXpXWr6d7bpRWXH12NLKX8hu2cb3ijFTGBlVoDkSJqE_aem_AfzmFqAktI5ORR02W7Tg05wUo85fzNB5MF8rT5ZPN6ZnCxAXo1q65DrXIuDjwYEVkgemKsjbK3LhL_7mk5Wz6xdY
“Jenkins has been training at the Bengals facilities for the past month, along with his fellow rookies and plenty of his veteran teammates during the offseason program. He was blown away by the technology and resources players could use to recover from training sessions.
"I've never even seen chryotherapy or red light therapy, but we have that here," Jenkins said on Enter The Jungle. "It's insane here, the technology is lit."
Jenkins was so relaxed during his first red light therapy session that he fell asleep. Now he sets an alarm to make sure he doesn't get too comfortable in what he describes as a "red light tanning bed that has health properties."
"I think it helps you heal faster," Jenkins said. "I'm no trainer myself, but everytime I do that I've woke up feeling 10 times better, so it works."
Jenkins didn't play at a small school in college He played for the Michigan Wolverines, but it's not a resource he had, which shows how far this organization has come over the past few seasons.
For years the Bengals have been criticized for their facilities, but they've added to their training room and are in the process of remodeling their locker room. These changes, along with praise from high draft picks like Jenkins, could help change the perception of the team and their facilities, not only in Cincinnati, but across the NFL.“
I love that we have gone from having some of the worst facilities in the league to now having facilities that are impressing players and that we still have upgrades coming to the locker room and other things!
Players speaking this highly has to be good for our recruitment of free agents!
I realize that, as the article mentions, he was only in college so wouldn’t know what to expect, but Michigan’s not a poor program and would be top-notch!
I’m posting from my phone, so if a mod could quote that appropriately for me, I’d appreciate it!

Bengals and Dalvin Cook |

BTW just read an article about maybe us adding Dalvin Cook. Would love it if we did, I know he sometimes has off field problems but
the guy in my opinion is an upgrade over Mixon and could be a good addition to our weak RB room after Moss and Chase Brown.
Dalvin isn't on a team, so he is available from what the article said. Thoughts?

PFF Team Rankings |

PFF has us ranked 8th in the NFL in rankings released yesterday, and 4th in the AFC, behind the Chiefs, Ravens, Jets, and Texans.
However, it does say that, if we can keep Burrow healthy, we'll be the favorites to reach the Super Bowl again, which is understandable considering we made it there and the AFCC game without being able to block for him.
Biggest strength in 2023: Passing Game
Quote:Joe Burrow is expected to be back fully healthy for 2024 after an injury-plagued 2023 season that was cut short in Week 11. Despite rumors to the contrary, Tee Higgins was not traded during the offseason, though his availability for 2024 is up in the air because he’s the only franchise-tagged player left who hasn’t signed, been moved or received a new deal. If Higgins returns to the Bengals, he and Ja’Marr Chase should once again form one of the most dangerous wide receiver duos in the game. While Tyler Boyd left in free agency, the Bengals have plenty of options to replace him, including rookie Jermaine Burton in addition to last year’s draftees Charlie Jones and Andrei Iosivas. Burrow will have no shortage of options to throw to this season.
It doesn't mention Gesicki, who, IMCO, will also have a big year and be an outlet for Burrow with teams doubling Chase and the line finally giving Burrow enough time to let Gesicki get into his routes. I think Gesicki is looking at a breakout year.
Higgins back would be huge, but Burton, Jones, and Iosivas, as mentioned, will also be good. I also like Irwin as a sneaky player to put up some good stats.
I like our passing game now that Burrow will have time to throw and we still have Chase!
Biggest Weakness: Running Game
Quote:The Bengals traded Joe Mixon to the Texans early in the free agency process and that left what was already a thin running back room practically barren. They signed Zack Moss in the offseason; however, he only has one season of sustained production while the other options include Chase Brown, Trayveon Williams and Chris Evans, who all combined to play just 273 snaps last season.
We need a run game to control the clock once Burrow puts points on the board (and obviously just as part of the playbook), but I'm not too concerned because Burrow loves to throw the ball and Moss is a sneaky good signing. I'm also big on Chase Brown. Granted that he has been in a limited role, but I think he has shown that he can be a playmaker and a change-of-pace that the defense has to be aware of.
X-Factor: Zack Moss
Quote:As mentioned above, Moss is expected to be the Bengals' feature back, his first time really holding that role at any point in his four-year career. Moss is coming off his most productive season in Indianapolis last season, though, as he played a career-high 531 snaps and rushed for a career-best 793 yards and five scores without losing a single fumble. Due to how thin the Bengals’ running back room is, expect Moss to carry the bulk of the workload as he looks to build on the progress he made last season
If he's ready to step into the main role, I think Moss could help give us more of a balance that will keep defenses honest, even if we throw the ball a lot more than most teams. Not losing a fumble is also huge because we need ball security.
Let's hope he can build on the success and be a big part of our offense.
Rookie to watch: WR Jermaine Burton
Quote:A first-round talent who fell to the third round over attitude concerns, Burton has the potential to be the steal of the draft if he can make it work in Cincinnati. Due to Tyler Boyd‘s departure, Burton will be competing with the likes of Charlie Jones and Andrei Iosivas to be the Bengals’ third receiver, a job he should be able to win. Burton was an impact player while at Georgia and put up even bigger numbers at Alabama, culminating in a 2023 season that saw him catch 39 passes for 798 yards and eight touchdowns while dropping zero passes.
I didn't mention him above but I love the way this guy runs routes and just finds ways to get open and make plays. I was shocked that we got him in the third but I'm pumped because I think he'll develop into a great compliment to Chase. The no dropped passes is great because he'll develop Burrow's trust.
Over/Under 10.5 win total: Over
Quote:The Bengals won nine games last season despite Jake Browning playing a significant number of snaps due to Joe Burrow’s injury woes. If Burrow can keep a clean bill of health, this Bengals team should once again be one of the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl despite playing in one of the toughest divisions in football.

Like I keep saying, I think we protect Burrow this year and the sky's the limit for him and the team!

McPherson on new kick off rules |

https://www.bengals.com/news/money-mac-adjusts-to-new-kickoff-rule-joe-burrow-flashes-varied-offense
This will be one of the biggest unknowns going into the new season. Luckily every team is in the same boat. It will all be a matter of who figures it out best
Quote: McPherson is certain he can adjust, even though on Tuesday he attacked kickoffs the exact opposite of the way he's done it his entire life. Now, instead of booming, he's shortened his stride and chipping it inside the 5 to the corners.
"It's definitely interesting. It brings a lot of placement into play. It's all touch. It feels weird for me," McPherson said. "I'm used to kicking it as high as I can, as hard as I can. Now I have to throw it inside to the 5-yard line in specific areas. It's definitely an adjustment. You have to play the wind a lot more now." "You're kind of taking the aggressive swing away and really just three stepping (the kickoff) and hitting it like a field goal approach to it," McPherson said.

For our next group, we move back to the offensive side of the ball and focus on our WRs. For the first time in his career, JB won't have Boyd to throw to. We do have some new blood to try and fill his shoes, so where we got CHASE_HIGGGINS_BURTON_JONES? As always, the competition:
