Chase not Practicing

Definitely threw Zac under the bus.

We say "New Dey" round here. Who dis guy?

Anyway, while I don't "worry" about this, the 'this is what will happen' vs. 'what actually happened' I don't like.

Thinking "F" Chase right now. I get it's his business, but to win SB's you also have to be a teammate. Can you imagine what some of the other players may be thinking about this situation? They probably thinking "F" Chase too. We can win without him.

Trent Williams is also in the midst of a holdout. And he actually still has 3 years left on his current deal. Between them and us, not ideal for a couple legit Super Bowl contenders, to say the least.

Of the top-5 WRs by receiving yards in the 2021 draft class, Chase is the only one without an extension.

(That said, GTFO with that $40m/yr-isn't-actually-$40m-year gymnastics. Offer him 4yr/$132m with $89m guaranteed at signing so he can say he got more guaranteed money than Jefferson if that's his holdup.)

This exactly. He is proving that he only thinks about himself and $$$$$$$$. Doesn't care about his teammates or a championship. It's only about the $$$$$$$$$$$. I've always been of the opinion that most of today's players don't care if they get to the SB or not. The $$$$$$$$$$ and resetting the market is the goal not a championship, ring or Lombardi.

Yeah, I'm tired of the drama. Will always love my team, but, I want to love the players as well, win or lose. I would not be sad to get rid of Chase. Mahomes has proven it's not about the WRs. I just can't root for jerks (AKA Chase).

Chase for whatever his reasons are wants paid now. What I think happened is he has 2 weeks left before the season and he tried to show some good faith and start practicing. Things probably took a turn at the negotiating table. Perhaps the front office took his good faith act as a sign he would wait until next year. Apparently that is not the case. It's not a diva show it's I want to get paid show. He just watched Bates and Tee shut up and ball and tell me how that's worked out for them? Or better yet tell me how that's worked out for us fans?

They aren’t going to drag him in the media but you can bet your arse a few will be pissed off with Chase.

Not for the contract situation that’s business they will understand.

But to make your coach the culture builder and the guy a lot of them owe their career to look like a clueless idiot will certainly piss a few off.

People need to calm down screaming trade him, it’s not going to happen without him there is no SB run I don’t care how talented Higgins is or the kids we’ve drafted who are learning, he’s a game changer which is why he can get away with murder.

It doesn’t excuse the fact that he’s acting like a petulant child and better have a career year after this.

It also doesn’t excuse the FO from ***** up what I imagine to be a pretty simple deal to keep the best player on our team not named Burrow it’s right there in front of you get the deal done ffs regardless of how many years he has left.

It's how all contracts are viewed. He wants paid now and he wants top of the league average for his position. He can't say Jefferson got 35 mil give me 35 because then he would be getting 27mil a year. It's not gymnastics.

Allegedly he wants 4yr/$160m. Some nonsense about it averaging out over the 6 years to be roughly the same as Jefferson, but at the end of the day it's still 4yr/$160m of new money, which is $40m/yr.

I think he should be paid, but he needs to accept reality that his best season was in 2021, he's never been a 1st Team All-Pro.

Nah, that's pure gymnastics. Jefferson got 4yr/$140m in new money. Chase wants 4yr/$160m in new money. He wants $20m more than Jefferson.

Williams is already being fined as it’s mandated by the CBA. Ayuik will be new as they “medically cleared him” so now he can’t miss practice anymore.

Look we can all argue what Chase is worth and what his real impact has been. But myself as I'm sure quite a few of all of you had an emotional/holy crap we've made it moment from that 2021 season. Mine was the KC game at the end of the season to win the north. Beating KC in that game was monumental and left me in some tears watching the sideline explode after the win. That just plain and simple wouldn't have happened without Chase. I know it's a team game and the defense was a big part of our success. But he has changed this offense and that can't be argued. He our 1B player show him,the fans, the team and every player around the league that we take care of our big time players.

Yes but he would be locked up for 1 more year. It gives him the badge of highest paid but in reality he would make less on average. Plus as a fan don't you think our FO needs a lesson on cap gymnastics? I mean people are throwing out KcC not keeping Hill but KC also pushes the cap in ways the Bengals refuse to do. I mean it may seem small but is that gonna be the difference between KCs dynasty and us not quite getting it done.

3 years left? He going to play the contract out until he gets Social Security.

Just joking. Wish he was here. Watched him in Washington when he was throwing hands with Richard Sherman.
