I know that it's dangerous to play the "what if" game, but if Palmer hadn't gotten injured, where would the Bengals have ended up that year?  If Andy doesn't go down with the thumb injury leading up to the 2015 playoffs, I felt confident that that team was destined for the big game. That 2015 defense was freaking awesome!

Well...how did they do in that 2009 playoff game?

In games where both Joe and Lamar are the starters we're 1-5.

The Zac Bengals are 3-0 (all Burrow starts) against the Josh Johnson, Anthony Brown, Tyler Huntley Ravens.

I'd still say they match up well. What has it been? A 2pt loss, two 3pt losses and an OT loss.

Browns - no Are you sure?

Yes, I’m sure. He’s a 2x coach of the year.

Dolphins - no Are you sure?

Yes, I’m sure. McDaniel is one of the best offensive minds in the league.

Jaguars - no Are you sure?

Yes, I’m sure. Guy won a Super Bowl over Belichick and Brady with a backup QB.

Cowboys - no Are you sure?

I’m not a real big Mike McCarthy guy, but again, he’s won a Super Bowl. How is Zac an upgrade over that?

Giants - no Are you sure?

Another coach of the year held back by one of the worst QB contracts in the league. He won multiple games with Tommy DeVito. If we’re going to point to what Zac did with Browning then it’s a push.

Seahawks - no Are you sure?

He has his team in 1st place with Geno Stone as his QB, and had a historic defense in Baltimore last year.

Saints - no Are you sure?

Not really. He probably could have at least went in the maybe category.

He was brought in to develop Lawrence....

I bet Jags fans would take Zac over Pederson.

They’re probably looking to get rid of a Taylor, not add one.

We keep saying every week where is the tight ends and why they almost never have an impact on the passing game??Ask yourself this question how long have we all been asking that same question??Where is the tight end seam routes??Where are the tight end digs or crosses ect??

Dan said and I quote there's absolutely nothing physical about the bengals offense is he wrong??when is the last time the bengals run game was able to carry the whole entire offense??Zac puts no creativity into the running game at all, almost the entire run game is ran from some variation of the shotgun why??
when is the last time you've seen burrow under center with 3 tight ends on the field??There's no excuse for this offense to consistently play the same game and lose the same way against the same kind of defenses every year..Defenses that play 2 high with a 4 man rush with a good Dline will always be his Achilles heel and it shouldn't be..

He needs to seriously diversify this playbook and it needs to happen asap this is getting old fast and this ownership should be looking at this very long and very hard because it's starting to be embarrassing..

I find it ironic that Orlovsky is being critical of the Bengals offensive scheme.

The only time in his career (if you can call it that) that he had success, he was running the Moore/Manning offense in Indy in 2011, which is very similar to what our offense is now. Highest Passer Rating, Com Percentage and TD-INT ratio, in 8 starts. He went 2-6, but these were his best stats.

In his career he had 3 wins total, and 2 of them came in a "simple offensive scheme."

But I guess he knows better.......

2funny. No one can take any of your list seriously when they see a "no" beside NO. The Bucs would rather have a Todd Bowles than Zac?. Brian Daboll? He's never done better than 3rd in a 4-team division. McDainels has never won a playoff game.

I could go on but it would be wasted effort. Let's just say if you believe your list then their current fanbases are ALOT easier to please than ours

That is a great, drop the mic punch line, but it is not fair to Zac, Nicomo. I had high hopes for Pederson and felt he was treated unfairly in Philly, but he won't be long in Jacksonville.

Todd Bowels has literally resurrected the career of Baker Mayfield. Didn’t you say Tampa would be one of the teams interested in Browning because of their QB situation?

Daboll won coach of the year. That’s not an opinion. Has Zac ever even been a finalist? You bring up Lamar MVP’s, but coach of the year in meaningless?

McDaniel at the very least is a better play caller. I wonder if he’d have 0 playoff wins with Joe Burrow as his QB.

As for Dennis Allen I conceded that one above.

Your claim that “all but 6 teams” would take Zac Taylor is what’s really 2funny.

Sure, let's just say ,to make you happy, EVERYTHING you said is true and your list is "right (which it ain't). It's why I said our fanbase has become spoiled, if those fanbases and others would prefer their current HC over the dude who has taken a team to the Championship game 2 of the last 3 years.

Nicomo, you have your opinion, which is great. But one point related to Pederson:

Other than his SB year, he went 7-9 before and 9-7, 9-7 and 4-11 after. He won the SB because he took the RPO concept from the playbook that Chip Kelly left behind in Philly.

Similar to McCarthy, he has nothing left.

BTW, Geno Stone's shin is better than Daboll. That man is hurting.

Maybe our coaches are spoiled. More than 6 organizations would can a staff after a 2-14 season... If that 2-14 year doesn't cost you a job, winning 4 games the following year could certainly do it. Zac Taylor may not suck as a head coach, but it's objectively a stretch to consider him anything more than middle of the pack. Six years in and still climbing that ladder to .500.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

I would rather stick to the discussion on this thread, where an ex-NFL QB is calling our offense "simple", yet the only time he had success in NFL was running the same offense.

That is the point of discussion.

So, it's your assertion that more than 6 organizations would fire there young HC after going 2-14 their first season.

You consider the dude who has went to the AFC Championship game 2 of the last 3 years "middle of the pack". As I said our fanbase has become spoiled. Zac took them to someplace they had never been before, now they want "more".

Me? I good with what we currently have

I would have agreed with Dan Orlovosky if this was 2021 or 2022 but this 2024 offense has a good bit more formations, personnel changes/skill sets, shifts/motions, and most importantly more variety in the rush offense.

About every fanbase but 6 would love to have Zac as their HC, but there's those around here who want "better".
I think Zac is a great HC but a terrible playcaller. But he's here as long as he wants to be so what are you gonna do?
