Someone could catch Burrow on TDs. Mayfield needs 4 to tie.

Who are the Bucs playing tomorrow again?

Nearly locked up, but 230 yards receiving by Jefferson is a possibility. And Detroit has the 2nd worst passing defense in the league by yardage allowed. Now have to stay up on Sunday night to see how Jefferson does.

17 TDs from a wide receiver is an insane stat btw.

Quintuple Crown.

Chase also leads in first downs receiving and yards after catch.

Myles Murphy finishes the season with ZERO sacks. Brutal 1st round pick so far.

Ouch. We are literally only good because of burrow, tee, chase and Hendrickson.

Hosting the Saints. In a game they need to win.

I thought Murphy played pretty well tonight. He got some push and pressure.

Baby steps.

Jefferson getting that many is possible but unlikely Darnold likes to throw to Addison and Hoekenson too.

Bengals, Ravens, Steelers, and Browns have played all 17. Here is where the races stand. I am only kisting players who can catch our boys in the listings. So guys like Garrett & Mahommes and Van Noy will not appear.

Here is where they stand:

1. Burrow. Leads the NFL in Completions (460), Yards (4,918) and TD passes (43). Here are his closest challengers who can still catch up:

Comp (460): G. Smith (387), Mayfield (386), Goff (363).

This is over. Smith needs 73, Mayfield 74.

Yards (4,918): Goff (4,398), Mayfield (4,279).

Highly unlikely. Goff needs 520. Mayfield 639.

TDs (43): Mayfield (39), Goff (36), Darnold (35).

Mayfield needs 4, Goff 7, Darnold 8. Baker could toss 4.
--------------------

2. Chase leads the league with 127 receptions, 1,708 yards, and 17 TDs. Here are the chasers who could still catch him:

Catches (127): St. Brown (109), Bowers (108), McBride (104), Nabers (104), Lamb (101), Jefferson (100).

St. Brown needs 18, Bowers 19. Borderline crazy but only borderline.

Yards (1,708): Jefferson (1,479).

Jefferson meeds 229. Not impossible.

TDs (17): St. Brown (12), McLaurin (12), Evans (11), Jefferson (10), B. Thomas (10).

St. Brown or McLaurin need 5.

This feels out of reach, but I guess 4 is not impossible.

Chase did hit the 100/1 thing and tied Pickens' team record with 17 TDs, albeit in one more game.
---------------

3. Hendrickson. After a monster 3.5 sack finale, Trey leads the league with 17.5 sacks.

Sacks (17.5):  D. Hunter, Hou (12), Van Ginkel, Min (11.5), Bonitto, Den (11.5),  Greenard, Min (11), W. Anderson, Hou (11), Fowler, Wash (10.5), McDonald, NYJ (10).

This feels done & dusted. Hunter would need 5.5 to ties, the others would need 6.

Carl Pickens.

Yeah so weird to have sack king and triple
Crown and not make the playoffs with the best QB in the league!? Something amyss.

I was talking to someone the other day about how I think "success %" is kind of a dumb stat and this is sort of a Chase thread, so I am just going to slap this in here now that our regular season is over...

2024 Success %
Ja'Marr Chase: 62.3
Drew Sample: 63.6

Drew Sample at 5.5 yards per catch (147th out of 150th and 2.3 yards behind the next worst TE in the league if he qualified) is a more "successful" pass catcher this year than our probable Triple Crown WR.

Jeff Blake throwing up 60 yard moonballs that Pickens would reel in with the GAP Band blaring  "You dropped a bomb on me" through the speakers was something to behold.

You definitely need to have a minimum number of catches.

Ja'Marr Chase is in a similar position to at WR: catxhes, yards, TDs. Additionally, with 1 more TD Chase would tie Carl Pickens for the Bengal record for a season and become the 11th member of the 100/1 club at WR, averaging 100 yards per game and 1 TD per game for a season.

Trey Hendrickson is also trying to lead the league in sacks. He would be the first Bengal to do do since sacks became an official stat, though Coy Bacon's 21.5 unofficially led the NFL in 1976.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/sacks_year_by_year.htm

Here is where they stand:

1. Burrow. Leads the NFL in Completions (423), Yards (4,641) and TD passes (42). Here are his closest challengers:

Comp (423): Mahommes (392), G. Smith (387), Matfield (386), Goff (363).

Mahommes is not playing. If Joe completes 25, Smith would need 70 to catch him.

Yards (4,641): Goff (4,398), Mayfield (4,279), Darmold (4,153).

If Joe puts up 250, Goff would need 493 to catch him, Mayfield over 600.

TDs (42): Jackson (39), Mayfield (39), Goff (36), Darnold (35).

Three from Joe would likely put this out of reach. But Mayfield did just toss 5 last week, I think.
--------------------

2. Chase leads the league with 117 receptions, 1,612 yards, and 16 TDs. Here are the chasers:

Catches (117): St. Brown (109), Bowers (108), McBride (104), Nabers (104), Lamb (101), Jefferson (100).

Lamb is shut down and Jefferson too far back. McBride and Naners could hit 117 with big games, and St. Brown & Bowers could top 120. But if Chase gets to, say 125, thst is gonna be tough to catch.

Yards (1,612): Jefferson (1,479), Lamb (1,194).

Everyone is 400 yards behind save for Jefferson at 133. If Chase puts up 100, he'd need 233. Not impossible.

TDs (16): St. Brown (12), McLaurin (12), Evans (11), Higgins (10), Jefferson (10), Andrews (10), B. Thomas (10).

This feels out of reach, but I guess 4 is not impossible. Dang that drop last week, I wanted the Bengals record in 16 and the 100/1 thing. Needs 1 to get each.
---------------

3. Hendrickson. Tied for the league lead in sacks with Garrett with 14 each.

Sacks (14): Garrett (14), D. Hunter, Hou (12), TJ Watt, Pitt (11.5), Va  Noy, Bal (11.5), Van Ginkel, Min (11.5), Bonitto, Den (11.5),  Greenard, Min (11), W. Anderson, Hou (11), Fowler, Wash (10.5), McDonald, NYJ (10).
