"Inching closer" to getting the JaMarr Chase deal done
Rappaport and Bellisaro are also reporting deals almost done but not giving numbers. This guy seems to be with Yahoo Sports and ESPN - both for fantasy football.

Trey has huffed and puffed about his contract before, but when push came to shove, he reported to TC and balled out.

Truth, no way Trey sits out. He is 30, do or die time for the Lombardi and for getting paid.

He will be back and sign the contract already reported offered of 32 mil per year double his current salary and damn good compensation
for the NFL sack leader.

Nah, they will pay him for a couple years, maybe 3. Want the guy happy.

Tagging just doesn't keep the player happy, just the way it is and they always play bad on it except for Tee last year.

Get this shit done. Free up some cap with the extensions, unclench the free agency sphincter, get some guards that won't be the worst in the league.

Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I agree no way Trey sits out so he is not urgent to get done prior the draft. Trey has no guaranteed money in 2025. A Bengals extension could be as follows:

2025 - Change to 100% guarannteed.
2026 - 27 million with 20 million guaranteed
2027 - 31 million with none guaranteed.

For Trey he would get a guanantee of 36 million (0 right now) and could make 74 million if he keeps playing well next 3 years

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Even if he is this is not the way it works. He will be the highest paid until the next big time guy comes up and then that guy will get the biggest contract.

The best players are not always the highest paid and if they are it won’t last for long especially with the way the cap has gone up. He’s young and should continue to put up huge numbers so in a couple of years this will probably look like a bargain.

Plus Ja'Marr IS better than Jefferson. Nothing against JJ but Ja'Marr has grown so much in one year in route running and getting open it is crazy.

He already had better balance, strength, quicks and explosiveness. The hands might be the only thing JJ has on Ja'Marr and that has changed too.

Also, we all know who was the better WR on LSU with Joe Burrow and it was Ja'Marr. We can talk about the sucky QB play JJ had to play with tho.

That is the only way I see JJ in the talk after last year. Growth is the determining factor to me on who is the best. Chase is scratching the surface.

Pay the man 41 mil per year, he deserves it.

Only 4 left that are significant improvements and most have injury history which could stretch out to long visits.  Sooner the better.

Until I see the press conference announcing the signing I believe this is all propaganda aka fake news released by somebody on either side for a purpose  I don’t want to hear I know someone who knows someone in the front office who told me bullshit.  I can’t believe half of that crap which is posted in this forum.  These leaks are used as leverage and if it is true then that’s great but right now I am Missouri on this which is show me!.

Ian Rappaport is reporting that both WRs are about to get paid. Also noting that it frees up room for Trey.

Right after Bronx got a thumbs down for saying he wouldn't believe it until he saw the press conference. Lol

I think this is close to the right format, but not sure Trey agrees to nothing guaranteed I'm 2027 and wants that raise this year.  The pending signings free up money for this year, so he gets a raise to say 23M total guaranteed this year,  then close to what you have (say 25M with 20 guaranteed), then 27M with like 8M guaranteed. Something that puts him over 50M for what would be a 2 year deal if needed, with higher upfront money.

I can see the team giving him an extra 3 to 5 million in 2025. But, I could also see the Bengals say takeitor leave it. Right now, he ha no guaranteed money so giving him another year of security with a raise seems fair to offer for a team with all of the cards. If it were holdem,Team can go all in with A/A and Tee looks down and has 2/7.

It would be great to get them both signed.

That said, they'll be paying massively more to wr room than any team. There's going to be a premium on drafting performers at other positions. Just an absolute premium.

He's too old to play that card.
