Bengals v. Hamilton County - Square Off

St. Antino won't get a team because the Jones family won't allow it and the Bucs wouldn't allow a team in Orlando. The rest of the cities you mentioned are minor league cities or college towns that won't get a team.

I think the funniest thing on that list is Columbus. OSU loses 1 game a year and they want their HC fired. I'm sure Mike and Katie REALLY want to move somewhere that they'll be the 2nd most popular and successful football team in the city with a fanbase that has zero tolerance for losing. (While also surrendering Kentucky to the Titans in order to try to fight the Browns for the same fans.)

Pretty much every city available are either cities that refused public funding in the past and lost a team, or would be taking market territory from currently existing teams whose owners are not going to want that....
-Cowboys and Texans are going to be happy with having to share more of Texas by a team going to Austin or San Antonio. That's money our of their pockets. I don't think there's going to be a 3rd Texas team until Jerry Jones dies, he has too much pull.
-Panthers and Commanders aren't going to want to give up Virginia as a market to a third team. They're both new owners and the 3rd and 12th richest in the NFL.
-Buccaneers and Jags would have to give up territory to an Orlando team.

They're tired of being screwed by the NFL. They've lost two teams in 40 years to moving. I doubt they would want to invest in a team without a local ownership.

If Jerry Jones had as much influence on the NFL as some think there would be no Tush Push; he cannot single-family stop a tram from going anywhere nor can any owner of a Florida Team. San Antonio, Austin, and Orlando all have larger populations than Cincy and would love to add an NFL Team.

Yes, Jerry Jones has that much pull in the NFL. He's basically the most important guy(along with Robert Kraft) in the NFL.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

I agree with poster who referenced the push is still legal. If Jones was really that powerful, the tush push would be dead. Why would other owners care if another team goes into Texas, one of our largest states both in population and geographical area (important for fan bases as they can get closer to their new team than Dallas is to them now).

Because Jerry Jones views it has his territory and Jerry is the godfather of the NFL! Do you honestly think the Brown Family has the willingness to go against Jerry and just to play in an average market?

You all know that she meant that they could move to like Northern Kentucky or north to the West Chester area...not a complete move out of state. They are not going to move from the greater Cincy area.

No, on both accounts.

There are probably multiple cities who would WANT a pro football Team.

There are also multiple cities who could SUPPORT one.

The question is whether those cities in discussion now are better markets and environments than Cincy for the Bengals. My answer is no.

If he can't stop the move, he will push for a high relocation fee. Since the fee gets split among the other 31 owners, this would be a far different situation than tush push. Rams and Chargers paid $645M or so each 10 years ago. Raiders paid ~ $350M.

If the Bengals get approved to relocate to Austin/San Antonio region, I could see a $500M+ relocation fee levied by the league. So good luck with that.

Then why did the Tush Push not get banned at the recent owners meeting?

There was a time when perhaps JJ had that much pull, but that ship sailed. Owners such as Rob Walton view Jones as a pauper.

He hasn't had much luck with a push lately.

But what is really interesting is that people like money. Even billionaire NFL owners. So sticking the Browns with a half a billion dollar tab won't be a very hard sell.

Tush Push is a poor example to use at this time. I listened to commissioner's words on the topic. He said that it's definitely going to be revisited in May.

He sure does:
https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/is-it-unfair-to-ban-tush-push-on-basis-of-eagles-and-bills-dominating-it-cowboys-jerry-jones-doesnt-think-so-220815588.html

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/tush-push-vote-tabled-by-nfl-owners-which-teams-support-oppose-polarizing-qb-sneak-play/

But you can roll with he doesn't want to eliminate the play a division foe has perfected and that he dictates where NFL franchises relocate.

They sure do, and with revenue sharing, I assume they'd prefer to see an NFL team in a large market like San Antonio rather than a small market like Cincy.

Why didn't they just ban it?

Likely because it ties to an earlier rule about pushing or pulling of a ball carrier by any other player. They seem to want to get all of the details looked at before proposing any rule change on "one particular play".

And Bengal's fans used to be Browns fans.

SA is 200 miles away from Dallas. Imma go out on a limb and say enough people in a Metro area about twice the size of Cincy would start to support their home team.

It's silly and Imma drop out. You guys roll with The Bengals have no other Options.
