These oft-repeated (by you) talking points are both pointless and useless. Thanks for that. ![]() "Hope is not a strategy"

As to the pick I was not thrilled with it both because of the lack of actual production and because of the terrible reputation his agent has. Trey I think will be extended. As to the practice of players wailing to renegotiate contracts before it is time just because the market moved I hope the next NFLPA - NFL agreement fixes issues like that (among other issues). I'd also like to get rid of the Funding Rule and just choose a percentage Guaranteed and make all contracts automatically guaranteed to that percentage. I would add one more update to the agreement with NFLPA, as follows: With NIL, some of these college players are entering the draft having made millions already. The days of draftees being in debt for tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to their agent/agency are over. They don't feel forced to sign a contract just to pay off the debts. That leads to the behavior we are seeing from Shemar. Knowing that he can sit out this year and re-enter the draft next year, is an option that he can take, given that he is already a millionaire. This option has to be taken off the table by NFL. If a college athlete doesn't want to sign a reasonable contract by the Team who drafts him, he should sit out 4 years (the length of the contract) before being eligible to re-enter the draft. Or he can buy his re-entry for the following year's draft, by paying the Team who drafted him the full contract value he was offered, or $15M (whichever is greater). This amount would be adjusted relative to cap adjustment every year. Also, the Team gets this amount added to their cap space immediately. Lastly; just to make sure that there are no shady tampering/influence by another Team, any Team who drafts the player the following year, has to compensate the original Team for the draft value loss. In this situation, Shemar would have to pay the Bengals $19M for the right to reenter the draft next year. We get $19M of cash AND additional cap space this year. Additionally; we get two first round picks for 2026 draft from the Team who drafts him in 2026. I think that will end this garbage behavior. ![]()

It's safe to say that if they don't have Hendrickson and they also don't have the #1 draft pick, that certainly doesn't help what has been one of the worst defenses in the NFL. I do not enjoy saying this. I've been a Bengal Fan sine 1968, and I get accused of being a Homer and rooting for Bengals when others give up on them. I hope the Bengals would have a good defense even if Hendrickson and the #1 pick don't play for Bengals, but I find it hard to see how that would make a bad defense become good. Even Golden needs players, he is no miracle worker. Since I've been a Bengals Fan since 1968, I smell the cheapness of Mike Brown still alive and well as both Hendrickson and the #1 pick are frustrated with contract negotiations with Mike Brown and Family. Now if they don't sign the #1 pick, that should give them money to sign Hendrickson. If they don't sign Hendrickson, that should give them money to sign the #1 pick. If they don't sign either one, that is just cheap. I said the good news is there are no games yet being still June. I also said Hendrickson could miss Summer Camp and Preseason and be OK as a Veteran if he starts the regular season. The #1 draft pick however will stink if he misses Summer Camp and Preseason, because he needs coached up. It will soon be July and Bengals front office needs to get with it. I don't care if they trade one of them, but one of them has to play for Bengals this season.

Everything that you and I say is just purely assumption at this point in time..again the bengals have hired a respectable defensive coordinator and acquired numerous new players through both the draft and FA..furthermore..those younger defensive players now have a year or two under their belt...i think stewart will be in camp..I dont think hendrickson is worth what he thinks he us and most other NFL teams clearly have shown the same..and again..injuries decimated this team.....I think you need to settle down..enjoy the Reds and lets both keep our fingers crossed that we have a better year...I think we will ![]() |
