Trey Hendrickson Update
(7 hours ago)Nate (formerly eliminate08) Wrote: No, Trey agreed to it so it was all fine with me.

Not really smart as Trey is our only great pass rusher. I know Trey is under contract and agree the team has the leverage.

Trey should of signed the extension offered. Just saying if they got this done sooner before Twatt they would of saved money if that is all they
are about. The FO said they would extend Trey this Offseason, though, so if they changed their minds and made a business decision not to
extend him that is hypocritical and not good for future communications for other players who play their butts off and are tops at their positions.

I disagree you placing the blame 100% on the Bengals after you say he should have signed the extension. They tried and he said no so to dismiss the FO effort is not being fair. So, no they are hypocrites if they never made an offer or tried to negotiate the contract.

Its kind of bizarre to realize that the 3 highest paid non-QBs in the NFL are all in the AFCN

It's next season and I'm hopeful

Bengals extended him for 2 years in 2022 through 2025, not one year. Then he asked for another extension last year, we said no. Bengals then offered him an extension in 2025, Trey said no.

Yet, fans say the FO has created all of the drama. I say just the opposite.

Welp...i found your problem. ThumbsUp

The FO said they were going to extend him and still haven't last I heard... Mellow

If it was my money I would be smarter with it and pay my best players before they got more expensive and others set the market.

He got an extension in 2023 that covered him through this season

Maybe the FO will extend him.,we will see

There are numerous " best players" on every team..money does not grow on trees..

You fail to mention that trey is 30 years old..perhaps the team js taking this into consideration before providing someone 100 million

Lowest means 32nd, so please provide the proof.

Well apparently there is no data to say who exactly is the lowest but the Bengals are in the conversation. But that wasn't my point. My point was you said they paid theyre guaranteed portion and that means they honored the contract. Well if Trey is outside of his guaranteed money doesnt that mean he honored his and is more than right to renegotiate.

Show me they dont pay the lowest. That wasn't the main point of my response but you can't prove that theyre not the lowest and I can't prove they are. But they are the bottom 5.

According to data I viewed on Pro Football Reference, 9 of the 10 greatest DEs of all time played well into their mid and later 30s. Trey was just named 1st team All Pro last season, it's not like he's going to nosedive off the cliff this year, or even likely next.

You can go ask your boss at anytime for a raise. They can lignore you.

He has not earned anything other than the 20+ million cap hit for 2025.

I undrstand you want him signed, I want him signed, but the difference is I refuse to lay the most blame on either side.

...what? Lol

Me: They gave him just a 1 year extension in 2023 rather than just paying him the extension he deserved.
You: "You're wrong, it was a 2 year extension in 2022."
Me: *Posts proof from three different respected sources that it was a 1 year extension and it happened in 2023.*
You: "Well, we're both wrong then, admit it!"

...what drugs are you on, Luvnit, where that makes sense to you? Lol

That is where you and the team management are both wrong. Heck, even Duke Tobin publicly said that Trey's performance has merited him a raise, but Tobin doesn't negotiate deals.

What's baffling is you claiming that the man whose led the league in sacks for two years hasn't earned anything, and siding with a cheap and miserly management team is even more concerning.

If he continues to play his cards right, Mike might even fire up the old Lumina and take him down to Wendy's for a value size Frosty.

Maybe I worded that wrong. Yes, I have stated over and over again he desreves a new deal. My issue is he was offered a deal and turned it down. You can chastise the FO, God knows they give ammo, but to think they are miserable to me tells me more about you and your abiity to analyze poorly as a business person versus a fan. They are great business people by every matrix measured by the bank and any financial expert. I like and respect that aspect of the Brown family, you do not. They can be great at some things and bad at others like no GM and not enough scouts which hurts our ability to field a better roster (maybe).

I see both sides one as a fan and one as a business person, you see one side because you choose to dismiss the Bengals FO as inept. I respect you and your opinion, I just don't agree with it.

And no I have no plans to ask MB for a ride on a golf cart to my commentators.

I didn't say miserable, I said miserly. Completely different word and meaning, as I'm sure that they are quite happy with themselves.

I am not placing 100% of the blame on the Bengals. Some of the blame has to be with Trey's agent and Trey not signing the offer they gave
if it was fair. But we don't know if the offer was fair or not, only rumors.

Just saying that if the Bengals truly wanted to save money they would try to get these deals done before other players set the market.

This has happened over and over again with player after player. The one consistent is the Bengals here.

Have to take into consideration his age. But still, Twatt is older and just signed a monster deal. This doesn't help with Trey is all I am saying.
