Notes From Training Camp 2025

He didn’t say that at all.

Yeah, he kinda did. More tactfully. He said that being injured and unable to practice is frustrating, but that is only part of the job. And that he could still do other parts of the job.

He strongly implied he should have been there, regardless of injury status.

OK, he said, Burton was in the trainer's room getting treatment. That cleared it up.

Yeah, he said he doesn't know when he'll be back and then indicated it could be today, a day they are not on the field.

Fandom is a funny thing sometimes.

I rewatched the clip. He said being on the field was only part of his job but didnt say he wasn't doing that part.

Pitcher talked about the need for Burton to stay focused and engaged even when not practicing or injured. He talked about consistency. He didn’t say he wasn’t doing those things. I took it more as part of the continuing conversations you know they are having with him. Jermaine…don’t check out because you have a minor setback. I didn’t take it as a scolding because he wasn’t doing them

If Jermaine was supposed to be on the field and wasn’t, Pitcher would not have been nearly as polite

IDK, kinda sounds like he's saying that the team is frustrated with Burton without actually saying those words. I mean, why else even mention intangibles like staying focused and engaged if it truly is a minor physical injury that is being graded as "day to day"?

Well, we’re going to find out more today at practice, is he practicing or rehabbing? If practicing, where is he on the depth chart? If he is in the doghouse, he won’t be in with the ones and twos

I think a lot of coaches are just more and more frustrated with younger players who don't think they can play through pain or an injury. Even with Mims, they said he has to learn that he can play through the pain.

I agree that may be part of it

Coaches and trainers used to ask "Are you hurt, or are you injured?". I get that we are in a different era these days, but the title of being a Football Player still comes with the understanding of a degree of grit and toughness above the norm.

I took it as him saying "injuries are frustrating" in the context that its frustrating for the player, specifically.

You guys are over analyzing this way too much.

What on earth are you talking about? Pitcher didn't say anything even close to that. Yall are weird.

After all of the drama surrounding Burton last season, I sincerely hope that it is as simple as your take on the quote would imply.

Guys, he wasn't there. Pritcher did not have to specifically say so. That is the whole reason he was getting questions on it in the first place.

Lordy, you guys are being unusually obtuse on this.

per Zac, Burton will be on the rehab field today. He reported the injury during the game last Thursday. He is working hard to get back on the field

He was in the locker room after that practice, there was a report he was there but did not take questions. So he was at the facility.

Oassi is day to day as well.
Zac really likes Howard Cross don’t be surprised if he makes the team
He said Drew Sample is the best point of attack TE in the NFL

Pitcher is excited about the ability to go to 12 formation with the addition of Fant

Team is inside today with a focus on the 2 min drill

Usually, if a guy is doing the right things, they say he's "doing the right things". They don't talk about frustration and 'other things you can do'.
