Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Not the news I was hoping for, but it appears Bengals are listening to trade offers for Trey. I started new thread since very latest.

I ws hoping they worked it out, but if not, at minimum we need a starting right guard and 3rd round pick in y opinion.

Bengals listening to trade offers for pass rusher Trey Hendrickson with contract talks at impasse

Published: Aug 17, 2025 at 01:23 PM

Trey Hendrickson's contract saga with the Bengals just took its latest turn.

Cincinnati is listening to trade offers for the four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher now that contract talks are at an impasse, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Sunday.

Hendrickson was granted permission to seek a trade back in March, though nothing came of it then and he reported to training camp to hold in rather than hold out in order to avoid being a larger distraction.

The star Bengals defensive end has made every Pro Bowl since the 2021 season and last year led the league with 17.5 sacks on the way to his first All-Pro selection. He's been seeking top-of-the-line money at his position and has seen several peers around the league receive such money this offseason.

Around the NFL will have more shortly.

If they cannot sign Hendrickson, my time as a Bengals fan is over. At least until Mike is dead.

According to Dehner nothing has really changed. Team is throwing out some feelers just to see if anyone will pay a crazy price but the price isn’t coming down from what they asked people for earlier in the off season.

They can say nothings changed, but you dont shop him if you're close on a contract. By this point, both sides know the number they have to get to...and it sounds like they arent going to get there.

This is botched. Should have traded him before the draft and got picks. Even if they're lower than you wanted.

Then, use his cap space to sign someone like Chase Young.

Now, you likely go into the season with a bottom 5 Guard tandem and a bottom 5 DE tandem. And DTs that cant rush the qb. Also, the secondary has questionmarks.

We have 30 odd million in cap space and from reports we are looking for impact players and pick.

That screams like they know they didn’t do enough in FA at this point it’s ***** embarrassing.

Duke and Katie would be in line for food stamps on any other franchise and here we are the future owner and mr bullet proof GM for the Bengals.

If this season goes south and we fail to make the playoffs again I can see fans acting with their feet and staying away. They aren’t serious about winning a championship.

It is just as likely thay it was purposefully leaked to show Trey no one wanted him to take the contract offer.

Or it is possible it is a team wanting to trade for Trey for a cheap price and trying to see if publicity can bring the price down

Either way...its much ado about nothing. No one is going to give the Bengals what they want for Trey

And seriously...they would never trade him to the Browns. With our OL, Myles and Trey would kill Joe

What makes you think not signing Hendrickson is because of MB? I think different people are doing the negotiations.

We have a SB caliber offense. We have a bad defense. Hard to say the defense improved much unless Golden is a miracle worker. No pass rush is no pass rush.

Is anyone honestly surprised with this Mom and Pop front office organization? We are thin at safety. Pay alot of money to arguably the best QB in the league with serious issues at guard and a defense that has been horrible with no real effort improving it through free agency. They wont pay Trey because they felt they bent enough giving Tee the big contract(against their will as well).

Katie has taken dad's football sense to a whole new level...

Let’s be honest, the Bengals struggle to sign their top tier players very year. This is nothing new, why should we be surprised.

No one is going to trade for him, so he's going to hold out into the season and report at the last minute.

Or he's going to be 'injured'.

It would not be a horrible outcome to trade him to Atlanta for Bates. Then sign Clowney or Smith (DE"s) to replace Trey. problem is Bates has dead money and a 14 million cap hit and Trey would be potentially higher cap hit for a team tight now with cap space.

It is not to late to get a starting guard + a draft pick, if not then let him sit and we need some guys to step up quickly while he is out.

Bengal fans say this all the time and end up at the beginning of a new season create a narrative for themselves to pull them back into it. Katie and company know this and count on it...

And you are dead on correct, they aren't serious about winning a championship, action speaks louder than words...

The real question is will everyone hate Burrow when his contract runs out and he goes somewhere else to win a Super Bowl before his career is over? Make no bones about it, the front office keeps pulling this shit he is as good as gone with Chase to follow...

Doom and gloom.

Fans will continue to watch not 1 but 2 HOF players compete in Cincinnati hopefully for the next 10 years.

Seems like a deal could get done because the Bengals are looking for players and not draft picks. From reports I have seen.
