I understand what you are saying. But Bengals do employ close to 500 people and bring a ton of money to the community.

There is an O Lineman fans on here want, but Bengals would now be wise to wait and see the O Linemen on the open market come Tuesday the 26th.  D Help and O line Help may be coming.  For example someone that gets cut from a Super Bowl team or good play-off team last season loaded with talent, may find an opening here.  It's how Bengals got a very good kicker in Horst Muhlmann because Chiefs had Jan Stenerud.  Just because the player cut didn't beat out a great player, it doesn't mean he can't help your team. Paul Brown in Cleveland cut Len Dawson and told him to go find his life's work. His life's work was going to Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs. So some cuts are great pick ups for other teams. Tampa never gave Steve Young a chance, but 49ers did and he became a Super Bowl type QB.  One mans garbage is another mans treasure.

Oh getting a cast off that another team didn’t want.  Brilliant…. They should had thought and strategized this back in February not two weeks before the season.  They knew Trey wanted to be extended but dragged their tight ass feet.  The mentality of the Brown/Blackburn family is nonsensical.  Constantly making boneheaded decisions only to do an audible at the last minute trying to correct their mistakes.  FO apologists like you would excuse their malfeasance managing the team.  They have been operating this way for the last 50 years.  It doesn’t have to be like this.

Clowney is a top 75 player in free agency according to NFL.com, so hardly a cast off. He is unsigned. I think at the end of 2025 all of your naysaying will be debunked as we will make the playoffs and have another winning record, 5th year in a row. Sorry, it is not an easy feat to win in the NFL and in our case playing in one of the toughest divsions does not help. Bad FO don't have a winning record 5 years in a row.

My mistake, I was reading the bottom of the NFL page and it had changed from top 100 players to top 100 free agents available. You are correct, I was wrong. But he and Smith will are both available if week 1 our Trey replacements do not play well. The Trey fine money could go towards paying them and Bengals do not have to guarantee the contract after week 1 if they wanted to cut them if Trey decides to play.

If we are talking top 100 players, in 2024, Trey was 77th. Thus far, his ranking has not been released for 2025, which means he is a top 20-ranked player (no way he dropped off the list).

Trey signing watch starts in earnest around 4 PM this afternoon and really hits high gear after the PS signings.

They should have practice on Wed and Thu. I'm guessing they get a long 3-day weekend before heading into the regular season practice schedule. Trey will sign his extension in time to have that full week of practice

I hope you are correct. I have some doubt and left him off my 53 man prediction. I also agree he is a top 20 player, huge jump from 77 last year. We need some other guys on defense and offense to make a huge leap into the top 100 next year. If so, we will have a great year.

I was a young man growing up during the Big Red Machine era of the Reds. They were a great team, but they also had a bunch of gys have career years when the won the world series. Our 8th hitter was a defensive gold glove winner who hit over .300. We need the Bengals to have the same thing happen in 2025, if so will be a very fun year.

How far do you have to sink to go from being a fan of the team to being an actual fan of this ownership group.  It's next level bootlicking.  

People who compare contributions of billionaires (billionaires via inheritance, not self-made ones in this case) to what dudes on a fan message board do with their lives have some very strange ideas about proportion and the nature of reality.  A less neutral description would be infantile.  

It's not hard to throw cash around when you're enter the world with an Uncle Scrooge style money bin.  But yeah, it's all due to their virtuous nature and love for the community.  You should be a comedian, Sled.

Also, guarantee that any dime of anything that family has given to the community was done for a tax write-off.

He will be on the 53 man roster.  He is signed and they aren't listing him.

I may be wrong, but once season starts if he refuses to practice, he reverts to the DNR list so Bengals are not penalized for a guy not honoring his contract. We will find out soon.
