Harley..I think that we saw today what the Bengals can do if healthy..But..I agree ..we could use a couple more pieces...Most teams would love to do something @ this juncture of the season...sometimes it works other times  not

I dont care what you are tired of, and Im not talking about the amount. Im talking about how he was treated by Troy Blackburn.  But you go on with your own argument.

you have absolutely no idea as to how he was treated or discussions they may have had.... aside from creating some story in your own mind..To this day Whitworth speaks highly of the Browns and this organization

OTOH the Rams rolled the dice on Whit, made a buck of aggressive trades, and lo and behold they beat us in the Super Bowl.

andrew Whitworth was not the difference in that game or season.. whilst hindsight is fun  ..you have to be very careful when extending contradicts of 35 year old players in the NFL

Does Mike Brown need to hire a formal GM and make better decisions..Yes

  • Respect: Whitworth says he respects Brown's honesty and appreciates what he did for Whitworth and his family.

  • Handwritten notes: Brown has written handwritten notes to Whitworth, including on the birth of Whitworth's daughter, the publication of Whitworth's memoir, and Whitworth's retirement.

  • Framed letter: Whitworth has a framed letter from Brown in his office.
  •
  • Caesar..I may be a "newbie" on this Board..but in reviewing your posts ..all you do is find fault with the team and denigrate others that dont agree with you..You fault myself and others for appreciating the recent success of the team so I guess the only way to get in your good graces is to be bitter and angry and live in the past..

Again, for a 32 year long season ticket holder you dont know much about the Whit situation.

His deal was with Mike Brown, and Mike alone.  When Whit approached Troy Blackburn afterwards, Blackburn told him he didnt want to talk to him, that he disagreed with the extra year, and seemingly disrespectful.

I dont need anyone in my good graces, just be a little informed.  I have been a fan longer than 32 years, I have seen us have good teams and I have seen the front office not do what it takes to get over the hump to make it happen.

It is also stupid to chastise fans that are not happy with a 3-5 team that was supposed to contend for a SB.  I've not given up yet but chastising people who make credible, critical comments its annoying.  You do that and then apologize for being such a pumper.  I dont.  When they are good I say they are good, when they are bad I say they are bad.  I haven't called for any firings other than ownership and the front office, for a variety of reasons.

Agreed. There are a few regulars here who thrive on such a shtick whenever someone posts constructive criticism for any individual in the Bengals organization. The current trend is to parrot, "but Zac made the AFC championship less than two years ago and even made it to the Super Bowl!" or post something snarky to the critical person followed by a  Ninja emoji.

The Brown/Blackburn family, Duke, Zac, Burrow, and company has yet to win a Super Bowl. Until that happens, it's expected fans will have critical takes when the team has a losing record.

My favorite is when they lecture us on a topic of which they have zero knowledge.  I swear some of these posters poop pom poms.

Moss may be done for the year or a hot minute.

I’d be calling the Jaguars for Tank Bigsby if they are going to continue to run Etienne out there for some weird reason.

Chase Young was an interesting idea.

Only has 2 sacks this year. Never really had that double digit year. PFF grade is 56.

25 years old.

I think he's on a 1 year deal.

Would it be crazy to trade for him? Is he just a bust?

Prob a bust as a #1 but opposite of Hendrickson I'd take my chances for a 5th round pick.

Would be one of those Cincinnati Bengals/Reds mistakes holding onto a piece just for history purposes.

If you trade your best players for picks, you get worse. That's why rebuilding is hard. One of the reasons.

You could in theory have Trey, Young, and a 3rd pass rushing end out there at times.

I'm one of those fans if you aren't first than you should be close to last...

I believe being a "treadmill team" is one of the worst spots to be in sports.  Good enough to maybe make the playoffs but not bad enough for a top 5 pick. It's one the main reasons the Steelers can't climb out of their hole.

If the rumors are true, Bengals are interested in bolstering the pass rush.

The FO needed this win to determine whether they were going to pursue someone or not.
They need to bolster their defense with a pass rusher and/or DB to help against these playoff teams with stronger offenses than the likes of LV and CLE.
Bengals are 1.0 game out of the WC and have a critical stretch of 3 games against 3 teams in the playoff picture right now - BAL, LAC, PIT.
They need to go 3-0 or 2-1 in that stretch to keep their chances alive, so improving their defense and getting Higgins back healthy would improve those chances.
It would also help to try to get a LT to replace Ford. Not sure if there are guys worth trading for, but there are some names still available in FA that might be interested to join a playoff push for half a season. Whoever joined would have to be ok as a swing tackle once OBJ is back though.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
