I've got an uneasy feeling...

He did say that taking less money is one of the options. He didn't say he would or wouldn't.

Not like he is throwing the FO under the bus. He expects these things to get done. I like his leadership and the way he has gone about it.

We will see if the FO and company can hold up their end of the bargain. Joe certainly has held up his unlike what that ERIC1 guy is saying.

Joe Burrow is the toughest QB in the NFL IMO. He shown it his entire career and even more so this last season when he was the best QB.

I'm not sure I like that type of leadership overall, in general, BUT it's the type of leadership needed here in Cincinnati for an organization that has botched things up previously, tends to keep things so secretive and one that can still easily live up to what they've been known for. JB knows his element and who he's dealing with.

You have ZERO idea what JB would do to get out of here if the FO ain't going to play hardball. Nobody thought the rather quiet, unassuming Carson Palmer would get agitated enough. It happens. These MF'rs are competitive.

Burrow's a great guy and a loyal guy but he's damn near approaching the midway point of his career and he's tasted championships in HS and college.

You don't think he wants one now? The team is already the laughing stock of the NFL with their FO and especially the scouting dept. which, btw, is where you build playoff teams.

No we're not.

Just because you're ashamed (and I don't know why you would be: you're just a fan), doesn't mean the rest of the NFL fandom knows/cares about how our FO is built up.

Yes sir STC. Joe Burrow is extremely smart and a bit of an old soul. About everyone was losing their minds in 2020. Not Joe.

He sure does and they know it. It is a good relationship from what I have seen so far which gives me some ease in this situation.

We get it. They are a mom and pop shop. This team isn't a tax write-off like it is for the other 31 teams, but times are changing and aren't going back. They have to either adapt or sell.

But Burrow has no say in any of this after the fact. He had his chance to do what he hopes Chase and Tee do. And we see what he did when he had his chance, so why should he expect different from them?

It’s not a tax write off for any team. They all make money.

The Bengals front office has a way with frustrating and wearing down the team's fans and players.

I hope they see the light before they ruin another generational QB's stay here.

If the FO screws this up, Burrow should leave town ASAP. And Bengals fans should stop going to the stadium & buying gear.

Joe just needs to stay out of it given when he had his chance he made sure he was paid the highest contract in NFL history at the time.

If Joe stays out of it we'll lose Tee and Trey....u want that?  That's what I thought.

I'm not sure it matters what he says. I guess we'll see if he has some pull or not.

Damn, take some Pepto and hopefully that feeling will go away. I believe that the team will do "their best" to accommodate Joe's wishes. But like the Rolling Stones once wrote, "You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need.".

You listen to Burrow's preference and at least give it a bit of weight because he's your QB, but you still do what you need to do because no team has ever been successfully run by a QB just getting and signing everyone they want. QBs aren't GMs for a reason.

if Burrow does leave the team early, Im going to enjoy seeing the bengals fans trashing him and calling him stuff like a quitter or something. These people will defend Brown and the Blackburns for life lmao

Right, Carson Palmer forced the hand and never ended up any better than he was with the Bengals. When will the newer generations learn from History?

Palmer did go on to win a playoff game in Arizona before the Bengals broke their 31 year drought.  But my point is the people should stop going to games and buying gear thing doesn't seem to work.   We have been through this before.  Boycott games, don't buy gear, billboards etc.  The Brown family is going to be the Brown family and do what they want to do. Maybe they improve things and maybe they don't, and NFL revenue sharing is going to be NFL revenue sharing.  :)

That said let's sit back and see how things go here in the next few months before panic mode.

The money pie is only so big. The more of the pie 3 players demand the less pie there is for everyone else to have. The solution I see Burrow and a few of his fans advocate? Take even more pie from someone else 4 or 5 years down the road so the guys on the team in 4-5 years have less pie as well. Sure the salary cap will be higher in a few years but at the same time so will the salary of the players you will need to pay.
