I hope you are wrong, I hope after his agent's comments today he fires him. Dude sounds like an idiot. Then I hope Stewart plays like a top 17 pick in 2025 and eventually becomes an all pro in 2 or 3 years.
We can't keep missing 1st round picks in the Burrow era.

I'm being for true.
He has a rep for doing this and a lot of people wonder who he is and how he gets info before the others.

Agree with all your points.
And I suspect Stewart's agent has made an unforced error in these negotiations and his now taking on Duke Tobin. Maybe the agent wanted more name recognition; he has succeeded in that, but the way he has gone about it is not going to endear him to other teams' front offices, either.
Once Trey is signed, then that agent will really be backed into a corner. And hopefully Stewart recognizes it and fires him rather than become the victim of listening to that agent.

"Duke Tobin has had no involvement in this negotiation," Hiller told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "It seems to be above his pay grade."

Sorry, he went after Tobin and said he was not involved in the talks.

I thought the video with MB and DT was very interesting. We now hear the other side of the story. MB says its about the guarantee money. He explains, it's about recouping guarantee money if Stewart does something foolish and ends up in jail. He also adds that it doesn't necessarily mean all the money.
So, I think this lands more on Stewart than our FO. Stewart not believing he can stay out of trouble isn't a good sign.

But a little more snide than that. Shamar's agent said the negotiations were, referring to Tobin, "above his pay grade."

If you’re worried your 1st round draft choice might end up in jail, is that a good draft choice. Maybe you should have selected another player.

All this was known already. It isn't that he doesnt think he will stay out of trouble it's just the simple fact this is the first time the Bengals have used that language. They fair or unfair want a concession to sign and word is that it's just paying the signing bonus at the time of signing rather than 50% now and 50% in December which the Bengals normally do.
The video is interesting in the fact that it shows how the Bengals are just not good at dealing with people on a personal level. I mean can we have a disagreement on a contract and not piss off the agent that will then in turn piss off the player.

Are you upset with Tobin since he made the initial comments?

I'd say Shemur and his agent fired the first shots when hey said The Bengals are more interested in winning an arguement than a football game.

Bengals were not first to go attak mode with Stewart, it was them so I thought his comments were very professional. He thinks the agent is a moron and Stewart is being duped by him. He did not attack Stewart.
To me, Tobin ppushed the agents buttons well and caused him to fore back an immature response.
Agent should have counted to 10 and then said nothing.
