I do trust our coaches and their ability to evalauate. But theirr job is to evaluate and improve exsiting players. You give an OL coach a prove vet who is healthy is likely better than our 5th best OG on our team. My point being is adding depth in the NFL is important too. We are in rare territory, we have not had this much cap space at this time of the year in a very long time. I am hopeful the FO continues to evaluate and bring guys in like they did with Fant and certainly after final roster cuts are made may be some better guard vets availble then Risner or Hernnandez or not. ![]() Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Specifically go watch A&M vs LSU. You get Will Campbell vs Shemar Stewart. You can see his late to react with his hands on several occasions to Campbell also placement on the wrists. The stiffness and body control issues show up when A&M played South Carolina when he is tasked with containing LaNorris Sellers. You can see the disconnect between his upper and lower half as he arrives in the backfield. This is all posted in the Draft section of this forum. You should read it. Learn something. ![]()

He had some spot starts because of injuries his freshman season but still had around 400 snaps. He had less than 300 snaps his sophomore year and almost 600 in 12 starts in 2024. ![]() ![]()

Plus i felt he was the best overall 3 down DE for pass and rush left on the board, another reason i liked the pick ![]()

(07-29-2025, 03:07 PM)Synric Wrote: Yes they do. Yeah, Shemar got owned by Will Campbell pretty much that game. There is a reason he was the best Tackle in this class though and yes, Shemar is stiff at times. He needs to try and stay lower and keep his head up so he can chase down the ball better. Shemar looked really good to me against Notre Dame, that was the best film of him provided that I saw besides him at the Senior Bowl and the practices where he was pretty dominant.

My point being is adding depth in the NFL is important too. We really do not have that much space. Remember, Trey is gonna get a significant bump. The PS will eat $3-$4 mil. IR already has All and Moss will likely join, maybe McLaughlin, too. Depending on the structure, that could be $20 mil or more right there. OTC has us at $28.6 right now. Mikey is never gonna hug the line too close. And some distance is wise as injuries & IR will mount as the season goes on. *Though waiving/IRing Moss would have a minimal cap hit. We save $1.2+ mil by gettingvhim off roster, and a replacement player will likely eat most of that up.

I was not “name-calling”. I said you were trolling - I did not call you a troll. There’s a difference. Also, I hope they do gel and become a decent IOL but none of them have ever been “good” NFL players and you said they were - that’s what I was disputing. You called them good and it is a fact that none of them have ever been above average NFL linemen. So yes I want them to take a shot on another vet to come in and compete.

The question about Shemar for me, is he simply what we in rugby called a Thursday all star? The is the guy who gives maximal effort when everyone else is pacing at 80%, resulting in the Thursday all star looking like a stud starter, but come game time Saturday, dude falls back down to Earth. I admit the bar is not high for him to be better than Hubbard last season, as Sam was hurt, but I am cautiously optimistic. Plus I think Golden's defense will have some wrinkles to take advantage of his athleticism. ![]()

They coud give him a 20 million bonus and count as little as they would like on the 2025 cap, as low as 50% or 10 million or count nothing for 2025 and push the can down the line. If we give Trey 10 million more (cap space) in 2025, we still have over 10 million left ![]() Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!
