Way better hand placement and hand fighting skills though. And a better pressure rate and win rate.

i would agree he is a good bit more polished, and way more technical. Him(Trey) and Shemar are polar opposites

Parsons is a liability in the run game as well as pass - unless he is on the line or walks down to the edge when lined up as a Joker at off-ball LB pre snap - to rush the passer.
His off-ball snaps have decreased significantly because he can't cover slots or RBs downfield (twitchiness devoid of coverage skills is meaningless). So he is used primarily as edge. Which Teams are exploiting by running at him.
So to some extent, one would think that if Dallas utilizes him as a Joker, then Teams would have to game plan for it. However; the game plan is more to exploit his weakness rather than defend his strength:
- If he is lined up off ball, you exploit his coverage skills.
- If he is at the edge, you run at him.
- If he walks down to edge from off-ball, you now have a 5 man front, which opens up windows in the short middle. In Quinn's Cover 3, sine Mike was responsible for deep middle, the lone OLB remaining would be stretched to cover the entire middle short intermediate area. And, yes, you can have a DT drop in the middle - but he is now a liability in pass coverage.
Eberflus would have to now devise coverage to protect Parsons, if he wants to assign an OLB to protect him against the run.
It takes more game planning for Dallas to use his strengths AND cover his weaknesses. At some point, getting cute with using Parsons is just that.
I prefer Trey. Irrespective of PFF grades, I would rather take a 270lb edge who excels at getting to the QB, than a guy who is 245lbs and the league knows they can run at him.

Wow and he was handling everything so well before TC. I don't know if I would trade Trey for him or not. They bring different things.
Parsons might actually fit Golden's Defense better than Trey.

Dallas won’t actually really trade him. But they’ve handled the situation terribly so far. Jerry is one of the few owners (along with the idiot in Carolina) who rivals Mike for being the worst.

Nate; if Parsons wasn't a liability in pass coverage, I agree he would be the ideal Vyper.

What DE isn’t a liability at pass coverage?

Parsons is worth more than Trey per my girlfriend.
But they're lacking at LB.
What about Trey, AND Logan Wilson?

Why would we want to create a hole at LB? They’d be down to a rookie D. Knight and Owens Burks who’s mostly been a backup. The rest of the guys are mostly ST.

A good pass rush masks a lot of problems.

Jerry Jones is Mike Brown with a far larger wallet, even bigger ego, and more inflated sense of football acumen

To the Trey for Parsons discussion. I think there are reasons why it's more likely each team can sign the other teams player than their own. Parsons being younger may be more willing to accept the higher number with limited backside guarantee as long as the number is right. The Cowboys have the cash and lack of regard to give Trey the long term guarantee he wants, especially at a fair number.
In terms of comp, it would probably take something like Trey our 1st and 4th this year along with our 2nd next year.

Figured, I just thought if there was a player out there that the Cowboys would trade Parsons for it would be Trey. Also think Micah
fits here better now that Golden is here. Just a thought, but yeah, Jerry Jones is an idiot. Micah just like Trey is all class. Both are
really good people, Trey just has a dumbass of an agent, I have no idea about Micah's agent.

Yeah, that is his weakness, but we wouldn't have to drop him into coverage much anyways, we could just move him around all over the
place to confuse Offenses. I think Knight is our Viper, that is why Golden wanted him so bad and he is playing like a stud so far.

That is pretty spendy, I think I would rather just pay Trey.

I'd love for a swap as long as the Bengals don't give up more than just Trey. Perhaps add a 3rd rounder but that's all I'd do.

Not many. But I think the comment was more in terms of a LB, not as a DE. Parsons was a LB and is more of a LB in terms of size. He is 6'"3, 245.
For a DE, I am sure he has excellent coverage skills. For a LB? Different story. Trey is 6'4", 270. Much bigger dude.
Interestingly, they graded out very similarly at PFF vs the run and pass.
But given our division, I think we are gonna favor bigger DEs:
Hendrickson: 6'4", 270
Ossai: 6'4", 263 (former LB)
Stewart: 6'6", 290
Murphy: 6'5", 275
C. Sample: 6'3", 272
C. Johnson: 6'3", 265
