Chase not Practicing

How about Sewell, Humphrey and Brown. Just get the line beefed all the way up since we didn't have a solid RT as well.

Perfect world, sure. But they would never pay all 3.

St-Ra Brown is  better just by his stats being comparable. He's done much more with much less.

That's what makes picking Chase over Sewell all the more infuriating.

Maybe, but if we had a time machine, we wouldn't need to pay too many people. We would just hit home runs in the draft every year  Hilarious

How many other teams that tagged someone have an even better player at the same position? The Bengals are getting a player worth 30+mil for 22mil. Seems like a good move by them.

Chase demanding a new deal 2 years early and highest paid in the league looks as bad or worse for him compared to the Bengals. Brandon Auyik who just signed for 5mil less a year is as close to Chase as Chase is to Jefferson. Amon St Ra is as good as Chase and signed for 5 mil a year less then Jefferson.

Would another team make Chase the highest paid WR? Probably. But Chase clearly has 0 care for his teammates, coaches, or winning in comparison to his own ego.

Without knowing Chase I can pretty much guarantee that he wants to be out there with his teammates. Problem is he wants to be paid and he thinks he's worthy of top WR money and I agree with him. His agent I'm sure is telling him if you want paid don't practice. Lamb and Auyik did the same thing to get paid it's just part of the business that unfortunately isn't very fun. Let's just hope they get him signed thus weekend and we can move past this.

Lamb and Auyik were also in the last year of their deals and coming off career years. Not with 2 years left on their deals with their best year being as a rookie. Neither also required they be the highest paid WR in the league even though Lamb proved it on the field to be in that convo.

They won’t. We have the most stubborn owner in the league. At this point I’m preparing myself for him to actually miss games.

Chase missing games makes things WAY worse for him since he's still on his rookie contract. He would be dumb to miss games.

However many games he can miss and still accrue a season I’m sure that’s what he’ll do.

I thought they just forfeited games checks for each game they sit out. Is that incorrect?

That would be the last thing we need going into this season. Especially having a favorable schedule to start the year. I'm still optimistic. All others are done and I think these last two showed that urgency can get things done.

Right, I was talking about the number of games you can actually sit out without adding another season onto his rookie contract. I don’t remember how many it actually is.

They can begin fining him now for missing practices. They also can suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team and withhold game checks, and it also would void any remaining guarantees on his deal. They could actually make him pay money to play this season if he tries to only play enough games to accrue a season.

The team has leverage, it just is a matter of do they want to use it or not.

And yet how many times did Chad demand being the highest paid and not practice even though he was actually recurrently a top receiver every year? We aren't seeing Puka Nacua demanding a new contract. He topped Chase even without Stafford the whole year.

Chad lived at the stadium and ate McDonald’s. People are different about their money. LOL
