McPherson...

Do I think Money has struggled with some things. YES. I also think the change in holder matters. I don't understand why Browning isn't the holder. Backup QB with experience makes a ton of sense unless he's just trash at it.

Rookie punter that was (stupidly) about to be cut having to do it under pressure makes no sense from a reliability/consistency standpoint.

Bone headed plays by rookies had the Bengals snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in 2 MASSIVE games (Chiefs & Ravens).

Sadly, it is against federal law to practice holding for kicks.

One, they like that it's moving to the airport and that road will get a lot of bars. Two, it takes away from the downtown atmosphere (8 times a year?). Three, Haslam has a ton of money and 1 billion of the move will be costing us tax payers (of which a Bengals fan would rather not partake).

I think the cost of the stadium is apparently the 2nd most expensive building created in the world (?) and for one of the worst franchises in all of sports. Those are words from Browns fans.

Cheering a road getting more bars?  Can get any more Cleveland than that LOL  Thanks for the update.

Bottom 5 in the league in FG%. You could argue the missed XP, and missed field goal has cost us two games. Missed another one today.

Not great when you have a coach who regularly takes the ball out of Burrows hand to lean on the kicker...

I don’t know if this is new to give the rookie a bit more time to get it down and in position.

If I was coaching I’d tell him to snap it straighter and tell Mac to curve his run and start half a step further back not only gives the holder a bit more time to get it down but would help Mac line it up incase of any problems.

Only trouble with that is that you give the defence a split second longer to try block it.

That could be the most boring thing I’ve ever typed LOL

Lol, yeah, not fun talking about the Kicking game. Get it fixed so we don't have to talk about it... Wink

So funny when he missed the FG and he pointed to the sky with a thank you god jester, my wife said "Why is he doing that he missed?"

I responded, "Its in relation to his contract extension while being in the bottom 5 kickers in the league"

The only people who are arguing the missed XP cost us a game did not watch that game. After the Bengals missed the XP, the Chiefs attempted a 2 point conversion to go up 25 to 22, but failed, keeping the score at 23 to 22. If the Bengals had made the extra point, it would have been 23 to 23 and the Chiefs would have kicked the extra point, so they'd exit that score 1 point up, just as they did in the real game. It had no impact on the game's result.

And the other miss that cost us a game was due to a bad hold, not Evan.

As for the missed field goals, we're still operating in a very small sample size. One of his misses was due to a bad hold, so that's not Evan's fault. The other two were on the longer side.

Would we prefer he never miss a kick? Yes. Is a kicker guaranteed to hit every single kick they attempt? Obviously not.

If it continues and/or gets worse, then it would begin to become a topic, but we're talking about 2 missed kicks at this point. One from 48 and one from 50. He's also made 51, 53 and 56 yard kicks this season.

He has a track record of success, so we should give him grace to miss a few kicks here and there. It just so happens two occurred relatively close to each other.

I like it. I have no confidence when he trots out there for 3. But, I think we need to be a little patient. He might be suffering from a vag infection or something that is distracting him when he goes for the kick? I dont know, but he did help take us to a SB so, lets get his ass to a Dr. and see if they can help.

I have pointed this out several times but it seems some keep ignoring the fact McPherson was horrible last year on field goal attempts of 50+ with Robbins holding for him.  He wasnt good even with Robbins.   McPherson has made some nice kicks in the playoffs but overall when you look at his stats, he isnt that great of a kicker.

The guy has never been close to a top 10 kicker in any season despite all the hype of Money Mac.

I can’t believe we really need all 45 guys on Sunday. Bring back Huber to hold!!!

Spot on. It's been making me laugh seeing all this stuff about the holder being a major issue (one bad hold, a game-coster granted) and how Money Mac is 'automatic' from beyond the 50.

He's got a reputation as a good kicker as he's generally decent and seems to have a knack for making the big kicks. Made some big ones in our postseason runs.

But last I checked he was 75%-ish from 40-49 and the same from 50+. On what planet that's 'automatic' I've no idea, but it can't be the one where numbers mean much.

But let's also slow our roll on this... we're not halfway through the season and any miss will skew the stats. In each of his seasons so far, he's ended the regular season with 5 missed FGs. He's currently on 3. So if you assume he continues as he is, he'll end the season with 6-7 misses. Obviously a regression from past year if that bears truth, but would hardly suggest he's gone off a cliff either, or that he 'can't work with the holder'.

Harris was the snapper. Huber was the holder. And if people remember, several weeks ago when everyone was cheering our new punter and chanting to cut the old punter, I brought up this very fact, that kicking is not the only job of a punter. Rekhow better get better at holding for McPherson or he'll lose his job.

I'll admit that gender swap insults are lazy, but I'll also admit to spending decades laughing about the Jim Rome/Jim Everett "Chris Everett" feud.

Now the big question is...

Is he starting to miss kicks at a higher rate due to him.. Or possible holding issues from new punter.

Since his decline started with the new holder, I'm going there.
