One solid contested play by a quality FS away from missing 4 weeks.   Ninja

-Harsh Reality Warning-

Offensive Snaps played previous 2 years + 2024....
Tee Higgins: 1,567
DeAndre Hopkins: 1,490

And Tee was a Friday injury report addition.  (Chase at 2,055 for comparison, despite having missed 5 games in that timespan.)

Hopkins isn't going to fix this team!  Cool

Never ever said he would. Just laughing at you making jokes about Hopkins being fragile, while we have Tee that there's still some people who want to pay.

That gap between Higgins and Hopkins just shrunk from 77 snaps to 54 this week.

I'm not exactly sure why you are using one often injured WR to prop up another often injured WR? That seems oddly strange to me. Especially, since I don't recall mentioning Tee in this thread.

Hopkins is a Chief now. We may not even see them again this season at the rate the team is going south.

i think what he meant was hopkins will at least see the post season. whereas tee likely will not. and tee isn't getting paid in cincy. hopkins gets the last laugh b/c he's likely to get a ring. he already got his $$$$.

D-Hop was good for them last night. Too bad, always liked D-Hop but him going to the Chiefs and doing well is like him going to the stealers
and doing well. Sucks. Hopefully we add somebody today besides just Khalil Herbert.

His first good game in nearly 3 seasons! Kudos to him. About time! Cherry pick much?

He had some good games last year.

Impressive as hell that he had >1,000 yards last year and >700 yards in 9 games in '22 with 0 good games.

He broke 100 yards 3 times against Miami, ATL, and Indy. All have putrid defenses. He scored 7 tuds in 17 games played.

By comparison Josh Downs had over 400 yards and scored 3 tuds in 7 games played last season.

He's in a great spot to have success! They didn't have a #1 WR in KC. Here in Cincy we already have 2!

Josh Downs! That's his current comparison. As applies to the numbers he's compiled in the past couple of seasons.

He's currently propped up because until Rice returns, he's KC's #1 WR by default.

Falcons were ranked 8th in least passing yards allowed last year, Miami and Colts were middle of the road 15th and 16th.  For comparison some of Chase's best games last year were against teams similarly or ranked worse in passing yards allowed.  So when Chase has a good game against a poor defense I guess it doesn't count either?

But again your claim was it was his first good game in nearly 3 seasons. The game logs prove otherwise.

George, he had one game with 3 tuds. He had 3 games over 100 yards receiving. Is that D-Hop type of numbers? He was ranked the leagues 29th best WR.

The point here is that Jeremy and others seem to think that Hopkins was just going to come to Cincy and they were going to be able to just plug him in here. That is and was never going to happen here. In KC it's a different scenario altogether.

I was simply replying to your comment that it was his first good game in almost 3 seasons. Sorry I don't know who Jeremy is.  As you mentioned earlier I guess at some point in another thread I haven't read people were wanting Hopkins to the Bengals and there was some debate there.  But I'm not even addressing that as I never was one of those people.

Hopkins would have been a great choice for WR2 paired with Jamarr Chase. He still has one of, if not the most exceptional catch radiuses in the game.

With Tee being out of course, but if Tee is healthy he's WR 3 at best and this would be a severe slap in the face to the kid that currently has the second most receiving tuds on the team. He would probably be WR 4 in Cincy.

I guess what I'm pointing to is that the Bengals didn't need to waste $21M on the franchise tag for Higgins, while knowing full and well that he gets injured annually and misses games. There were other players that they could have signed for less than the franchise tag amount that would have filled the void adequately.

That kid might need a severe slap in the face. He's getting a full-time starter's workload and he's on pace for 388 yards in 17 games while catching 48.6% of his targets. If you care about PFF at all, he's the 123rd/129 WRs this year.
