I'm not saying he's resting them to avoid Burrow, I'm saying they would be happy to avoid Burrow if they could lol.
That's pretty much it. They were going to rest their starters either way. Probably lose either way. Not specifically to avoid the Bengals or anything. They wouldn't necessarily even play them and they don't control the outcome of the Miami game. At the same time, I'm sure they're not heartbroken that a QB of Burrow's caliber won't be playing.

Reid intentionally threw the game. It's pretty obvious.
It should be against the rules, especially with legal betting.

This is what happens when you start the season slow.
I had said either before the season or very early in the season (can't remember) that 10 wins were going to be needed to confidently get into the playoffs.
Turns out that aside from this string of luck for other teams to lose, that was correct.
This is on coaching, as the team is far better now than they were 2-3 months ago, and they're less healthy now than they were to start the season.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

I dont think NFL teams and players fear other teams as much as we fans make that out to be..but I have enjoyed your comments and critique all season long..I am transitioning to baseball..we have a very good manager..players like Elly /Mc Clain...some good pitching...the reds should be competitive this year..and of course the bengals offseason will be interesting..I wonder if Joe had some very private discussions with mike and his family...or will have

The Pats don't need a QB, but I am sure they'd have preferred trade down leverage.

But that's the thing, Mike Brown *is* in on it! NFL profit shares. Does he actually care about winning the superbowl? This question comes up from not only fans but also sports heads.
Them all being billionaires and sharing the money seems to be different than "you only get paid if you win". I wonder how a Mike Brown team would live in that environment.
Star QB, WR, RB is how Mike Brown has made his hayday. Like the no practice facility, shitty weight room and having to bring in your own food...small scouting department. LIke the latter has to beg the question, do you want to win?!
to me it's like mike tyson fights, you show up and make millions. you don't have to win, play your part lol.

I don't think there's much that can be done.
I'm sure the players all have some kind of ding at this point in the season and the team can just designate them with questionable tag and bench them to "avoid further injury."

I would hope so. I would also hope someday we know what the hell Burrow was saying to Zac when it looked like that one post game picture it was "I pitched a perfect game and we lost because we fielded the worst defense I've ever seen"? Lol.
I wish I was still into baseball. I have to watch NBA and the 3 point nonsense it's turned into.

Travis Hunter could be their target.
They need offensive weapons.

Everyone and their mother knew the Chiefs were going to lose on purpose....
Would be curious if the law had anything to say or is the NFL protected due to their "entertainment clause"
Obviously for gambling purposes I can't imagine more than 50 degenerates hoping to hit it big bet on the Chiefs today.

Not that this game changes anything, but I am all in on:

Or salivating at the thought of playing the bengals defense..no offene but our defensive backfield is not going to stop the very good teams

The NBA faced something like this with players "resting", the league doesn't like it because "fans" come to see their favorite players. I'm betting the player's representation just says "this is what you get for having 17 game season" lol.

That's what they are saying as throwing the game, but how can you enforce preventing backups to be played?
And if they somehow did force starters to play, how do you prevent the team from calling bland plays that are easily recognizable like in preseason?

That's silly. They want their players for the playoffs to get to the Super Bowl. Many are hurt. In the same situation, if Taylor put Burrow and Chase out there, I'm buying a plane ticket. They want to win, but won't get Mahomes hurt to do it in a game that means zero. Six teams pulled starters today. None did it thinking about the Bengals.
Like a teenage girl driving a Ferrari.

My memories of this season is Pratt clearly missing tackles and thinking otherwise, and CTB being burnt or doing PIs and giving his clamp dance before the flag is thrown. I expected so much more from CTB, I wonder if this project is done.
Where is the thread to talk about what we need to fix next year? Lol
