Na.

He rolled out one of the worst defensive players in the league week after week (Hubbard) while keeping guys like Murphy, Ossai, etc. on the bench. We were basically playing 11 vs 12 on defense.

It's unforgivable.

That sounds like the FO demanding they play who they pay most. I don't think coaches have as much power to play / bench players as one may think. GM's and Owners have significant say in that.

This is the post that convinced me that the NFL is biased against Cincinnati. You mean to tell me that the refs allowed offenses to play with an extra damn player against us all year? No wonder the defense was so bad.

It's the same reason why they didn't give Daxton Hill any play to see if he could be a replacement to Bates when they knew they weren't going to extend Bates.

Bates was playing better than Hubbard but they still went into 2023 blind not knowing what they had in their 1st round safety because they never gave him any snaps.

I really think letting Jessie Bates go — and Eli Apple too — made Lou Anarumo’s job a lot harder.

the problem with the Bengals is not coaching..its player evaluation and scouting..did you watch the Detroit game last night..they have more injuries than most teams in the NFL and they were playing with 2nd and 3rd stingers in many positions ..they were awesome..until the Bengals make significant changes  in scouting/evaluation..we will be having this discussion every year..coaches can only do so much with crappy players provided them

that is the silliest post I have read all year..the NFL loves the Bengals ..the Bengals have some of the highest TV ratings of all teams...the problem with our team is with scouting and player evaluation...and not having a plan

It's both. Coaches can be bad and player evaluation/scouting can be bad.

I remember Mixon being happy when Bengals brought Pollack back but I just don’t see his glass eater expertise.

it would be interesting if we were able to have some very private conversations with Pollack and Lou..etc...it would be fascinating to get their unblemished take on the players provided them by this organization..hard to coach up and be successful with crappy players

Shame it ended this way but I think the team stopped buying in to his ideas and it was time to move on.

I'm going to request that you re-read my post. Really try this time. Once you finish, sit back in your chair and think for at least ten seconds. Ask yourself this question...

"Do I really think he was being serious when he typed that out?"

Well it's a good start. Lou had a good run tho, with his defense being crucial in reaching the Super Bowl.

But with the NFL passing, receiving, and sack leaders on this roster, heads gotta roll.

Had to be done.  Hopefully this opens up some different draft philosophies as well.
