Tee’s market price
Tee is a beast....when he's on the field which just isnt often enough to warrant the price tag

It does not make sense he would command top dollar in free agency, yes, he is the best available in FA and draft, that does not make him a top 25 WR in my opinion.

As for trade value, he is not Tyrek Hill who KC got 5 picks including a 1st rounder, but he is good enough for us to get 2 to 3 picks in my humble opinion.

Via PFF, Higgins graded out 8th amongst WR's. Ahead of Chase.

I say not a good advertisement to buy PFF having Higgins better than Chase. I guess if you took a player's PFF rankings and then adjusted them based on snaps/games missed tit likely gives a more accurate picture.

Simple, PFF does not account for number of plays, games or plays missed so the result is crap like this. Give me a break, Tee is better than Chase is a joke.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Pay the man.

How ever are we gonna resign such heavy hitters such as Mike Gesicki and Trenton Irwin if we have a measly 10 TD WR rating all our cap!!??

I disagree

The issue is y’all bring this point up as if we have a slew of guys that will demand big money

We don’t have anyone to pay. There’s no reason not to pay Tee.

Just a triple crown winner and the sack leader. LOL

Well, we really don't have to pay either this year. We can extend them and owe big loot in 2026.

I broke it down ap dollars if we cut 5 players and then sign better but more expensive replacements. Money goes very quickly. Comes down to sign a vet guard and a vet safety or sign Tee in. my opinion.

They have the money to pay several players, likely just not so much guaranteed money after paying Jamarr. Much of the guaranteed money that Tee's contract would likely be required is better spent on trenches.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

There are reasons not to pay Tee and I explained it in my previous post.  Pay him but pay him what his availability warrants.

Just proves PFF has flaws just like other measurements used..

pro football reference says he played 12 games. Tee left what, 2/3 games early this year? He had 10 touchdowns. Thats impressive

But sure let's focus on some arbitrary number and a made up popularity contest on wether we should  sign the guy to a deal or not.

Per game, yes, Tee had a good year.  Problem is, he's constantly hurt and missing games, which is the reason why I feel $28 mil APY is steep.

I agree way too steep.

You have to keep Higgins, Hendrickson, Chase and burrow.  If the bengals were drafting pro-bowl/all-pro caliber players routinely then you have to make tough decisions. You don’t trade top/great/elite players for a mostly booty roster behind it.

There are not many players on the roster, behind the four I listed that you can look back and say “production meets pay”.  Most of them are overpayed.  Sure? You can bring up free agents? So let’s let Higgins walk so we can, again, overpay (most likely) for middling production.

The lack of drafting/developing is the sole reason they must pay Higgins and chase.  Had they hit on more than Burrow, Chase and Higgins since 2020… ofc you would have difficult decisions with various players up for extension.
However your paying over 60 mil to Chase and Higgins plus what they pay Burrow would not allow Bengals to rebuild.  The Chiefs let Hill go and continue to go Super Bowl. The Bills let a top WR go and went AFC Championship. The Patriots let many WR's go as they went to many Super Bowls.

For those who say Chase and Higgins are unbeatable, wrong, the Bengals have been missing the play-offs.  They need money spent on Defense to get back in play-offs.

The Bengals need to sign Chase long term to go with Burrow. Problem is the Defense gives up more points than Burrow can score,  They brought in Golden, so address the Defense.

The Bengals are not winning with Chase and Higgins, so don't think like Bengals.  Think like Chiefs who let Hill go, but still keep going Super Bowl as they continue to try to give Mahomes a Defense and Blocking.   You might have a point if Chase and Higgins are winning, but they are not.  Let Higgins finally go Free Agent in March, sign Chase long term, and move on.  The Bengals need to stop beating this dead horse, for if they wanted Higgins they would have signed him long term in 2023.

The window has closed on the 2021 and 2022 Bengals.  In 2025, it is time to rebuild a solid team around Burrow to Chase. That is what the Patriots and Chiefs did to keep going Super Bowl.  Are the Bengals winning with Higgins, No.   So let Golden have the players to compete in the AFC North of tough Defenses.   Like Mahomes or Allen, Burrow will get the ball to other pass catchers without Higgins, and like Chiefs the Bengals will be a better team for making changes.  Change is a constant.

Should the Bengals pay 20 to 30 million to Higgins, No...Should the Bengals instead spend money on improving the Defense.  Yes.....Burrow can not score 50 points a game.  However when Bengals had a good Defense, Burrow got Bengals to Super Bowl and AFC Championship back to back years  Give Burrow to Chase a solid Defense again. Otherwise hiring Golden is pointless,

Fix the defense and OL and continue to draft young players on offense too ( TE and WR and a RB 2).

Yeah, that makes me lose all credibility in PFF. Ridiculous.
