Tee’s market price
(02-19-2025, 03:49 PM)Nate (formerly eliminate08) Wrote: Yeah, in a way I kind of hope Joe is just being a great friend to Tee. In the end the Defense needs to improve the most and if we bring back
Gesicki and add another WR to go with the IOL upgrades I think the Offense will be more than fine without Tee who misses a lot of time anyways.

I think Joe sees how great Tee really is and how this offense can go more than anything. There's few guys in this league that can go up and get balls like Tee can and I'm talking about snagging balls in another atmosphere, far above any DB. It really just expands the vertical space on the field with those "go up and get" timing patterns that have changed the outcomes of games, not to mention "pick your poison".

Joe sees several teams in this league that do have excellent 1-2 WR's, and an excellent TE and really good defenders. Why can't we is the battle cry that Joe is directing to MB and Katie and Troy.

Most definitely, when Tee DOES play, he is just reaching his prime as far as a player. He will miss a lot of games though as we have seen.

It is a tricky situation, I wish what I said earlier could be in the cards with somewhat of an incentive laden contract for Tee if we do extend him
where he would get paid much more for staying healthy. That way he would be worth the 26+ mil or whatever he will command.

Tee is about as good as it gets snatching the ball out of the air above DB's and Ja'Marr and him are the best duo in the NFL when both are
healthy with Joe Burrow. Tee is also proven when he does play which is why I understand the ones wanting Tee back.

I also understand the other side wanting to upgrade the Defense the most and honestly this is where I lean, but I cannot doubt Tee as far as
the player when he is on the field.

If our QB is willing to restructure his contract to keep Tee in stripes, and the front office declines, what are they saying to Burrow? Starts with F and ends with "you."

Carson Palmer gets a lot of hate but he was using the leverage he had to move the organization forward. In a more subtle way Burrow is trying to do the same thing. I think we have to sign Tee.

nate ..herein lies the problem..Tee cant stay healthy..Frankly..even if we had all the other pieces in place..I still would have serious doubts about signing Tee Higgins...Now..would it not really be cool if we could pay Tee for actual complete games played?..game by game

if tee goes elswhere ..he will continue to be good friends with joe and Burrow will give it a 110% every game

You are acting like Tee has missed a ton of games over his career or something.

He's missed 13 of the possible 90 games he's played in the NFL and has never missed 3 consecutive games. He plays through a lot of what he deals with.

Like I get he gets banged up a little bit and deals with some sosft tissue injuries, but you're being a bit dramatic about it. There's no way that kind of "injury history" is completely stopping me from re-signing him.

Yeah, it is more middle ground than what he is saying here. Tee has problems staying healthy, but he will still play and be extremely effective
when he does play. Like you say Weezy, he has never missed 3 consecutive games, he just tends to have those nagging hammy issues and
they seem to get worse over time unless he does something like Housh did.

Honestly, if we pay Tee I hope he talks to Housh about that yoga stuff or whatever he did to help him stay healthy in his career.

All of these "trade" and "tag and trade" and sign a vet free agent ideas are all a major risk. There's no guarantee the guys that we would get in the draft or free agency are going to actually come here and make the team better. Hell, how many threads have we seen talking about how bad the Bengals drafts have been outside of getting Higgins, Burrow and Chase?

There's no way I would trade him for picks. There's also no way I'd let him go and then "hope" a veteran WR comes in and fills his shoes. Coaches talk about systems. Zac's system has always been heavily reliant on 2 WRs. Some teams use 2 TEs etc. I have no problem paying Tee for a couple of reasons:

1. We know what we have
2. The cap is going up 20-million per year

For those that think we can spend the money and fix the problems on our defense and o-line, we can do that even with signing Tee. It's not like we are going to go out and bring in Trey Smith and a bunch of other Tier 1 free agents. Sign our own, fill in the holes with the Tier 2 guys. That gives the team the best chance of success. Hell, that's how we got to the Super Bowl a few year's back.

higgins has missed ten games the past two years and left early in another 7..Per instructions of the Board Directors I will not comment on any tee higgins injury but if it were just a "nagging soft tissue injury".. I would not have any issues in resigning him

my feelings remain the same..tee..a great guy..very good receiver but cannot stay healthy and you just dont pay someone 25 million a year that is going to miss almost a third of a season

and thats  like saying  Joe Burrow will be extremely effective  when he plays but we have to realize that he will miss five /six games of the season and only play about half a game in another 3

Weezy, he's started 62 of a possible 86 regular season games, that's 72% of the time he was able to be on the field and ready to play at kickoff. That is why so many are cautious about signing him to a mega deal.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations
