Don't see why it wouldn't be here though if it's Bengals-related

Exactly.
I realize not every free agent or trade partner should be here, but these seem major.

That sounds fantastic. Bring in Josh Sweat an Edge in FA and a Guard like James Daniels or Trey Smith and boom...

Trey Smith would be an incredible signing, but Will Fries or Tevin Jenkins would be great upgrades as well.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

That is what is nice for us this FA, lots of good Guards to be had. Nice on Fries and Tevin.

None of the panel members mentioned Kupp as a possibility for us, but Tony Reali did.
I still think he'd be perfect for us and, this late in his career, he's going to want a quarterback that can put the ball where it needs to be (I know all receivers want that, but I just mean that he's going to want that more in his career now), as well as potential to win at least one more Super Bowl.

Bengals would be getting fleeced in that deal and not moving ahead.
Garrett is equal or less than Trey, but they are giving up a promising 2nd round pick, and future picks? I get that Garrett e is younger, but also having foot issues, which is never good for a big man.

Losing important draft picks in a year when they only have 6 to begin with, and throwing in a promising prospect? No, I cannot get on board with that idea. The Bengals defense is more than one player away from being great, and you're suggesting trading a second round pick after a promising rookie year??
It takes a lot more than sacks to compose a strong defense. But that's definitely a Mike Brown type of move, go big on the perimeter players and stay soft in the middle...

Did anyone look at contracts for Garett and Kupp. Browns will never trade Garett. He has has a cap hit of 1.3 million in 2025 with a roster bonus of 18.5 million and 1.3 million and roster bonus of 19 million in 2026. Cleveland would have to eat a ton of dead cap money.

Kupp is the opposite issue. He has a cap hit of 12.5 million in 2025 + 7.5 million roster bonus and then 15 million + 5 million roster bonus in 2026. LA will have to eat some of Kupp's salary and even then, since it is a contract dump, likely only gets a 5th or 6th round pick.
Kupp - 2025 = 20 million and 2026 = 20 million cap hit.

The Bengals lose their 1st round draft pick, their 3rd round draft pick, Trey Hendrickson and Kris Jenkins to pick up Garrett and a late 2nd round pick. That is one of the worst suggested trades I have ever read on this forum

So the Bengals say no?

Yeah, I wouldn't do the deal either but it flls the parameters of what the Browns want in a potential deal. Personally, I would just take the commanders first and second rd picks. Then sign a Chase Young + Baron Browning to fill Trey shoes.
I will say this though, Garrett is wildly considered the best all around defensive player in football in both the pass rush & run defense department. So saying he only gives you sacks is a bit strange! Isn't it?

Washington also is a big NO on that deal. They give up their first and second round picks for Hendrickson? I love Trey but no way they give that up for a 30 year old Trey.

Don't forget that Cleveland has pretty much had a class A defense for most of his career. His numbers weren't all because of just his presence, but by the fact that 10 other teammates were all doing their job well at the same time. We see what "one hero" looks like with Trey this year, need more Indians, not a different Chief.

The NFL Sack leader isn't worth a First and Second?

I believe the Bengals would say no. As much as I would love to have Garrett, the cost would be too high. I would take Garrett over Hendrickson. I would take Garrett over any other DE with the exception of Hutchinson who I think has the best future.

I like Will Fries a lot.
