Vet or high draft pick to replace Hubbard?

How about IF Tee? Would you sign him for $30 million a year?

How about Chase for $38 million a year?

I feel like Chase is the one we'd want. We'd probably be leery of Tee and Hendrickson for those amounts.

It depends who would be our #1DE and who would be our #2nd WR instead of Trey and Tee?

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

The answer is both ; sign a guy like Chauncey Gholston from Dallas and draft a Ashton Giollette in the third/forth rd.

Our need for DT depth is much greater than DE. I would prefer an middle priced (less than 10M/yr.) experienced DT in a rotation and give Trey the money. Paying a DE more than Trey is a horrible look. If the Bengals don't want dead money in the future they can at least pay Hendrickson a bonus for past performance.. whatever helps them sleep I guess.
I'm also nervous about signing a player that puts the Bengals in a position to not develop/rotate younger DL players. This is why if the Bengals pursue a DE I'd like to see one highly specialized who is expected to play limited snaps.
Whoever they sign should not be a player who makes them hesitate if BPA comes up DE or DT, especially because both positions should be on a rotation.

I'm looking Jarran Reed, Naquon Jones, Onwuzuike (or BJ Hill for less than 10M) at DT.
DE is very thin. I could see a rent-a-wreck 1-2 year deal and a high draft pick.

Put Javon Hargrave in there as well. BTW, no way we are going to pay another End more than Trey BTW. Trey will be extended or traded.

I think alot of folks are forgetting about Cam Sample. he ruptured his achilles in first week of TC so will have full year of rehab. I saw him in the practice before he got injured and he looked bigger faster quicker and more agile than the prior years. He is also a swing DL who is big enough to play DT. Coming off injury, he will definitely come cheap. Definitely a good run stuffer at a minimum and if he rebounds to look like he did in TC pre-injury, likely a decent pass rusher, at least as good as Sam was before injuries took their toll.

Great point, I was forgetting about Cam Sample. He was an underrated player for us and was getting good before the injury.

I also like Cedric Johnson, but I would still be more comfortable if we brought Ossai back and brought in Josh Sweat at End.

We have plenty of dough to work with to make tons of moves this Offseason and still extend Ja'Marr.

Before the Trey news I thought they needed to add 1 Vet and 1 Rookie to the DE group. I would have felt OK going into this season with a group that had: Hendrickson, Murphy, Cedric Johnson, Koonce (FA signing), and a Day 1 or 2 Rookie.

Now that Trey may be gone, they need to sign 2 Vets and still draft at least 1 Edge.
