While we have two viable starters at DT in Hill & Slaton. Which makes the DT a rotational piece. Now, I'd love for that DT to be a stud va run & pass & make BJ or slaton a reserve. And I do think Nolen, Grant, or Harmon could do it.
But by the same token, BJ/Slaton are better at their jobs than Sample is at his. Having Gesicki as a WR4/TE2 kind of mitigates our shortcomings at TE1 & WR3, though..
If my chiice is Warren or Nolen, I'd take Warren.
I agree, Warren would just open up the Offense so much and he can play both TE in the passing game and H-back in both the running and
passing game. Plus, who knows if Nolen's character problems rear their head as a rookie like Burton's did? We can get a DL in the 2nd round
to rush the passer or a Guard depending on BPA.

I would agree with this take even though a pass rushing 3-tech is more of a need for us than a great all around TE.
But Erick All's injury actually makes an all around TE a bigger need than maybe some like to admit.
The obvious choices would probably be Nolen or Grant. The Safety from SC was already off the board.
I just like the idea of Chase and Tee combined with Gesicki and Warren. Burton who? That's some serious weaponry with high gimmick play probability. Warren could also play some Full-Back/catch passes out of the backfield, plus he would be joining on a rookie 4 year deal that pairs nicely with the Chase/Tee/Gesicki deals.
I wouldn't be upset either way.

Walter's latest mock has Nolen going #17 and Warren going #18.

All good thoughts Coach. The more I think about it I would take Warren every time if that is what is staring us in the face at 17.
He would play a lot more than a pass rushing 3-tech as a rookie and we could get a 3-tech like Norman-Lott later to rush the passer.

Not saying I'd do it, because the needs elsewhere are too significant, but I've just recently seen Omarion Hampton's highlights. That dude is just plain physical.
It's not their way, but imagine a punishing, physical back lining up in an offense like this version of the Bengals. Everyone accounting for Tee, Jam'arr and Joe and getting bulldozed with light boxes. Want to load up for the run? Go ahead, we dare you.

That’s a mock. Where are they rated as prospects?

The mocks I have been playing around have Warren gone in top 10 and now Loveland at times in top 15.
MY top pick is safety Nick. E. from SC who may or may not be available at #17. If not him, I think if we can't trade back, we need to take an edge. I think Green will be the best available, if not the kid from Tenn. who may drop or Walker is available at times.
I like Grant, but we drafted 2 DT's in 20224 an signed 2 DT's already in 2025. Yes, we need a pass rushing or complete DT, but not sure one is guaranteed other than Graham and he will go in top 6 or 7 at worst.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I recently viewed a mock that has us taking Green. Can't remember which outlet.

Hampton is damn good alright. So many great RB's in this Draft. It would be a shame to not take one IMO.

While true in a vaccuum, I can make a list a lot than 6 deep before I get to RB3/RB2.
RG: starter
DE2/DE3: possible starter
pass rushing DT: rotational
LG: starter or rotational
------------
TE1: Starter/2 way only
FS: Stone replacement
SS: Battle upgrade
LB/Vyper/speed: starter or rotational
