Happy Tampering Day

I thought Williams would max out at 20 to 22 million. That is a huge number.

Pats have overpaid every signing so far by 15-20% it feels like.

I see what you are saying. But only 11 start. The other guys are depth/rotational guys that see significant time. RB2, WR4/TE2, H-back, DE3, DE4, DT3, DT4, LB3, CB4. You know, reserves.

If we draft TE1, Sample becomes TE2 with Grandy backing him up. Hopefully we draft/sign another DT so Jenkins & Jackson can be DT3 & DT4. Plus draft/sign a DE so Murphy can be DE3.

W'd still need another DE, LB3, S3, and a 5th DT.

We are likely gonna have to live with some issues or hope some young guys step up (Anderson, Anthony, Heyward, Ngongmeta, Newton, D. Hill, Turner, C. Johnson, C. Jones, Burton, Lee, Kirkland, McLachlan, Grandy, etc).

Not a huge surprise. Had 10+ million cap hit.

So now 2 DT's available from cuts. Grady and Ogunjobi.

This is why I wanted BJ back. Or a similar type player. The DT FA class is gonna get paid like studs but really has outstanding niche players (Williams as a pass rushing DT) whi are gonna get paid like every down studs. Or guys very much like Hill. Solid contributors but not game changers.

Good DT draft. Probably picknof litter at #17 outside of Graham. Good value Day 2.

Lol, Seattle going from Geno Smith to Sam Darnold. Talk about treading water.

Jarrett had a 62.1 form PFF last year and LO 49.4.

I know it's typical Bengals not to have much, if anything, going on the first news day of FA outside of re-signing their own, but I always hope eventually they'll change.

And yea, I know there's still quite a lot of day left, but just once I'd like to be excited about the team within the first few hours of FA.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

He was also coming off ACL in 2023.

He would be a possible inexpensive option if Bengals feel he has something left in the tank.

I know he was disruptive earlier in his career.

DT Poona Ford to Rams. 3 yrs, $30 mil, $17 G.

He was a DT I liked of a BJ Hill type. Similar deal.

Teair Tart or Calais Campbell would be DT's I'd look at if we want to sign another. We'll draft 1 almost certainly.

I would stop putting faith in PFF if I were you...

Intersesting as many have him as a CB first and WR occassionally

He also has to survive 1st 3 picks.

And 62.1 is not horrible. Better than Jackson & Jenkins graded out last year. Rankins, too.

There was half a billion dollars shed last week in salary cap, most of it from FA in the last two years. In reality most these deals today won't work out. I saw a stat yesterday that said basically only Tom Brady has worked out in terms of QB's signed in FA for more than 15+ per year in the last decade. In comparison, multiple guys that were "bargain" bin actually did something for their teams (Baker, Darnold, Geno Smith, etc).

Everyone wants shiny toys but legit most these are bad deals but because there is nothing else to do everyone wants their team to win FA.

Wouldn't mind bringing back Larry O.

Fields to the Jets

Rodgers now to Steelers or Wilson back?

I hope they literally get no one. Whatever the worst option for them is I am all for it.

Wanted Poona Ford myself. That is actually a good deal for the Rams as Poona is hitting his stride IMO.
