Draft Day 2025!!!
I've been reflecting on past anxiety and laughing while reading the last hour of this thread.

This is why I don't waste one bit of my time researching the draft before the draft. After the 1998 and 1999 drafts, I got tired of knowing more about what they need than they do. I just wait for the picks and then I start looking them up. I don't care who was available, I don't care who got picked just before them and I don't care about a possible trade up or down.

They suck at drafting early, they had a history of doing pretty good in the 2nd round but I don't get bothered by their scouting cluelessness anymore.

could pick, way more talented than Myles Murphy. The lack of production is obvious, but with our new DL coach in Montgomery we might have a
chance of developing these types of players. Hobby our old DL coach was terrible at developing young OL in my opinion.

Well let’s hope, because this guy needs to improve about 50% JUST to be a rotational guy. Another 50% to be a difference maker.
The dude had 4.5 sacks and only 11 tfl in 3 years. That’s hard to do at any size, but especially at Stewart’s.
Now, he loses the physical advantage and you think he’s gonna be good? Pffft get real

Sanders is no where near ADs level.

If you put sanders in that STACKED 2011 draft class, he fall somewhere in the 3rd-5th round taken around qbs like ryan mallot, and TJ yates

But Salaun, was just like this, an obvious awful pick at the time it was made and we saw this year that Salaun can’t play basketball

A HUGE percentage of Hornets fans wanted Scoot Henderson over BMill. The meltdown on draft night calling out ownership and management was wild.

Also same thing in the Lamelo Ball draft, most wanted Wiseman and the sky was falling when he went 2nd and we see how that played out.

Seriously, which ones?  Based on what?  I team like the Eagles can afford to pick a guy like Stewart.    Decent chance to develop him and in a good position to take a bit of a gamble.  Absolute incompetence for the Bengals to take him give their current situation.

Time to focus on next pick currently at 49 or 27 picks away. I see 3 or 4 OT/OG available

More OT
Simmons
Ersery

Guards
Bfine's bold prediction - Savaiinaea
My favorite - Donavan Jackson
Tate Rutledge

Based on our division, OG a bigger priorty and we need to address in round 2 in my opinion

Actually he is correct, Stewart was gone a lot by pick 17 in mocks

He was never my favorite, but many experts including ESPN guys loved the pick

Shemar Stewart says he didn't have any communication with the #Bengals prior to being drafted by Cincinnati.

"I never talked to the Bengals...I didn't talk to them. No 30 visits."

Added he doesn't remember meeting with the Bengals at the NFL combine.

I have no doubt they planned on taking Nolen and got left with their pants down after he got picked right in front of them. How do you pick a player who is all traits and no production without talking to him and finding out what the deal is?

Does he? Hubbard first job was to top the run. Stewart already is ranked better than Hubbard was in college as a run defenser.

I think he will set the edge defensively, he needs to improve his pass rushing finishing skills. He had. lot of pressures, that is a positive, at least he is putting pressure on the QB.

And that player development issue is why Lou is now working for the Colts and half his staff is looking for a job

All hopes turn to next year

That's why I'm keeping myself in check because while I would have loved Harmon, this isn't a Mike Brown run organization anymore and I actually trust our coaches to know more than all of us.

We never even met with Harmon so I didn't ever expect him. Pressures can be great, we will see how this dude progresses because he
needs a lot of help. I am not going to cry about it, we have new coaches on Defense that liked this guy and lots of other coaches liked
this guy that are professionals. We will see.

I am a sweet spring child at this moment. Mellow

Golden who is now our DC was a pretty damn good LB coach for us, Zim was damn good, Hayes our DL coach was good, Guenther wasn't
terrible etc.

I couldn't get any more chill than i am right now. I haven't raised my voice or complained to the wife even once before or since the pick. There was nothing unexpected about it.

Once again, hope is a construct. It has no tangible results. "let's hope", "i hope". It's a filler for something unrealized and i'm sick and tired of hearing it when it comes to the sports teams i root for.

**** hope. How about 'do better Bengals'.

I prefer not to live in candy covered fantasy lands and you better believe not one single ***** person is ever going to make me change how i express myself here or anywhere.

Bengals hired Jerry Montgomery for a reason. Hopefully we are seeing Rashan Gary.

This can't be true, can it? I mean either Stewart has a poor memory or our vaulted front office picked an Edge because they needed an Edge instead of best player. Or our front office is full of idiots.

Believe it or not, a team will call another team and talk about a player. Like, the Bengals may call the Giants, Raiders, Cowboys, etc (Not Pitt, Cle or Bal) and say what do you know about this guy.
