It wouldn't make much sense for him to.  He'd have to sue to get re-admitted.  Then even if they allow him to go back and play, the Bengals would own his rights after the season(per Florio).  Stewart's options are basically to play for the Bengals, get traded by the Bengals, or to just not play in the NFL.  It makes me wonder why teams don't negotiate super, super hardball clauses more often if the deck is so stacked against the player tbh.  It also makes me wonder why the NFLPA didn't iron out the rookie contracts to be even more cookie cutter than they already are.

If he returned to A&M, he would also be risking career ending injury before even getting back to the NFL. It would be a bad move for him all around.

Well, when you give 2 WR's that much money, you obviously have less for the rest of the roster. That's fine if guys play out there contracts. But, if they are under contract and hold out for more money...it hurts.

I said it once and I’ll say it again, you can’t outscore very team to win a championship. If our defense is no better than the last 3 years, expect more disappointment.

They screwed up Chase & Tee as well. On multiple levels.

Especially considering they’d have more cap room after those deals if they structured the deals differently. They purposefully didn’t.

And they could have signed both earlier and saved millions.

Didn’t do nearly enough to fix the OL. Which should surprise no one.

But that only works if you hold players to their signed deal, and not cave in to them wanting a new deal everytime the market resets. Otherwise, they are basically all one year deals.

So in contrast the Bengals did a great job with the Trey deal and should be commended or do you have a double standard?

I don't know that they're inept, but they don't optimize cap space and try to save money which sometimes costs them money.

With Burrow, this team will never be really bad. They know that they can field a middle-tier roster and win 8-9 games with Burrow. Then, if things break right win 11-12 games and maybe make a playoff run. That's precisely why you keep Tee and Chase. Have a high-powered offense.

But, yes...they aren't going to spend every penny to make a great offensive line and defense. They're going to rely on unproven young guys to take a leap. It hasn't worked.

And teams like the Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, and Steelers aggressively try to improve their rosters.

Super Bowl teams say it begins start of training camp.  Bengals as usual will not be reedy for week 1.  Bengals are only NFL team that hasn't signed their #1 draft pick.  Heads will hang low as Cleveland beats Bengals in the trenches and Cleveland hands Bengals yet another start of season loss.  Bengals are never ready to play in September, and thanks to Mike Brown and Family they will not be ready this September.  Whoever is at QB for Cleveland will have all day to throw and will destroy the Bengals who will have no pass rush.  

Mike Brown and Family have the idea that they paid Burrow, Chase, Higgins and that's all they need.  WRONG.  Bengals will get beat bad on defense, and you can't win if the defense stinks.  Could have used Hendrickson or at least the top draft pick, but Mike Brown & Family aren't even negotiating, Bengals just won't have either of them.  Well, Mike Brown is more famous for 4 win seasons than he is for play-off winning seasons.
